Hey. I got one of these scrolls from somewhere sometime i dont remember, and now i decided to use one. I put all reseacrh i needed to go on all stations and just used it like any other scroll and thought, that researches would finish up (I did not read the tooltip on the scroll, name seemed self-explanatory.)..

Nothing happened. All researches still going and cant place any new ones either naturally. What did i do wrong?

Yeah you will want to look at what the scroll says before using it as there are different ones. (1 day, 7 days, or even 30 days I believe)
And if not bought in the crownstore, I think they differ between the different professions. Like jewelry crafting or wood working.

You didn't read the tooltip on the scroll. ;)

There are several tiers of these scrolls, each reduces your research timers by a set amount of days. From one day to seven days, if I remember correctly.

As for self-explanatory item names, well, I would strongly advise to actually read what an item does before you buy it or use it. Your common potion (sip, potion, whatever) of Health does not fully heal you from 1% health points left. It heals a certain amount of your missing health points instead.

Yea. My mistake then.. Learned a valuable lesson again. Always read tooltips even in things that sound straightforward enough . Especially in the game where tooltips may even be unclear like the outfitslot one which does not state its character only.

Would not have been any use for my crafter then anyways so one saved bankslot i guess :D

These are your answer. It probably came from the daily login rewards which I think are all 1 day advances.

Most propably. I dont pay that much of attention on those rewards. I am always in a hurry to get to adventuring and being the character i play :D

What does this mean by reducing each in progress?

The timer is some sort of clock-add on in Tamrielic as you might progress further in research studies in blacksmithing. The wax does the job by materializing into small fragments of rosin that are useful for the cool down in the labyrinthian that has been said to take about a day to cool down the magical sword
