Would adding a story mode influence your decision on buying Elsweyr

I'm curious, so I made a poll. Whether it be an out right Story mode or just making a Delve difficulty option for group dungeons so that they may be completed by a solo person for story purposes, would having such an option influence your decision on purchasing Elsweyr or any other future content for ESO?

Edit 2: I'm copying part of a comment I made to a post here so folks may understand why I made this poll

"I did not confuse Wrathstone with Elsweyr. I did see posts about folks comparing the features of Elsweyr with previous chapters and that it seemed lacking in the perks department like new systems of play. So since so many folks were talking about Story modes I thought I'd ask to see if this had enough support to warrant an argument for its inclusion in the new chapter."

Edit: As usual, anyone who leaves a comment with get a click from me of some type for participating provided it is not rude. (Might have to catch up after work)

I was under the impression there were no group dungeons in the Catland expansion. Are you talking about a story mode for the trial? Or for the 2 dungeon based expansions this year?

Either way, adding a story mode won't affect whether or not I buy Catland. I'll wait until the absolute last minute, so I can see all the changes, then likely buy it the day before it comes out.

I am on the fence but this would definitely sway me in that direction
I did not preorder yet with the main reasoning:

i was very happy when i heard "yearlong dlc spanning storyline". i expected 4 story dlcs.
yet a again 2 dungeon dlcs was a bummer. than pts posts informed me that both first bosses in the dungeons cant be soloed.
and than i learned the the dungeons in q1 will not be part of the actual story, but proc a different speechline in the "story" prequelquest. i didnt check the prequelquest on pts myself, i never do quests there, cause i dont want the story spoiled during a prolly glitchy experience. afaict from the other prologue quests, they did become longer over the years; but selling stuga as "story dlc" is really low. i do expect q3 to be the same remotely related dungeons + prologue shoot and forget quest.

for me, that does not qualify as yearlong story. its two teasers before the two story dlcs. u could just swap the chapter to q1, have 4 unrelated dungeons in q2 & 3 and keep q4 story dlc and it would be rightfully yearspanning.

having the option to solo the dungeons and fully integrate their storys would defo help here. i soloed alot of the old dungeons because i wanted to see their stories. while i did not agree to a lot of choices my char had to make (why cant i expell the arrogant jerk from the mages guild and send a "we r very sorry" letter to selene?), it was still very good storytelling in them.

the other reason is that i do not like the packages at all. I want the collectors cat mount, the pet and the early access. dont care for any of the rest. there will most likely be reskins of the pet and mount during the year. early access is well, i like to have new stuff asap, but than the new zones r highly unstable and have extended directors cut loading screens the first few weeks anyways; most likely so overrun that its hard to spot the questgivers within the crowds.
its hard to find arguments against "get it later".

I don't understand what's so hard for people to find a group either thru the finder, chat or your guild. I wouldn't discourage a story mode I just dont understand why people have so much trouble finding a group for group activities.

I already plan on getting all chapters, so this doesn't influence me. However, I have lobbied for delves to be included in all dungeon DLCs so that those who don't participate in group content aren't kept out of two-thirds of the DLCs each year (to the commercial advantage of ZOS), and whether this year's main story was included in such delves or through a solo mode in the dungeons it would certainly be better than restricting it to group dungeons.

It's a different mindset. Players often want to just press a button and go. Other games just grab a bunch of players from a lobby and put them all in a game. There is a lack of understanding from some people that ESO doens't function this way by design. If you want to press the queue button and be put into a dungeon and succeed, you will be extremely disappointed by DLC dungeons in ESO. They are balanced for premade groups with voice communication and the best way to complete should be that way, however, they are still in the pool for randoms to join up. This can often lead to failure (especially on vet mode). If you're used to other games where a bunch of randoms group together and just get it done, this experience here is quite different.

4 extremely casual players will NEVER complete a dlc dungeon, even on normal. It's not balanced for them. For those extreme casuals, it would be nice to allow them to experience the story without the stress of a dungeon they simply can't complete. No amount of "git gud" will apply for some. It's just beyond their skill level, for any number of reasons.

I have no plans on buying it anyways, at least not at full price.

I have no interest in playing a Necromancer class, dragons are just another boss, and Elsweyr isn't bringing any new crafting systems (like jewelry crafting) or new skill lines (like the Psijic skill) so this new chapter does nothing for my existing characters.

The lack of a story mode for the upcoming DLC dungeons - as well as previous ones - absolutely impacts my decision not to purchase any dungeon DLC. There is no content for me in them.

I'm not exactly 'on the fence' in that I'm not indecisive... I simply won't buy anything that requires participation in group content for story progression.

That said, I wouldn't be interested a proper story mode (i.e, no combat at all) either.

Elsweyr it's a strange thing for me...

    1. there aren't any new things that I care (hate necromancers and necromancy, never gonna play one), and
    2. I'm kind of wary about spending that much money (relatively speaking, it's a big chunk for me due to currency conversions) only to be given a relatively small land zone, a contrived full of tropes story-line, and a boatload of nerfs and game bugs/regressions, and not fixing any of the main issues that are presently in the game (pvp stuck in combat bug, snares too common, cannot break free from some animations, sustain is still horrible, etc.)
    3. Also, after what happened with Morrowind and the Warden, I kind of think they'll going to pull another "Hey! It's Elsweyr... Cats! Warm Sands! Look over there!" and under the hood screw our existing characters and classes to make room for the new necrodumber addition... so, I don't want to buy on that.

So, not sure what I'll do yet... I'll probably wait until the expansion PTS cycle and see what's on the menu there, or, if I have a chunk of extra money for some reason I might be able to buy it earlier, not sure.

    Already bought it.

While I wouldn't care if they added a "solo" mode to dungeon I think personally ALL content needs to partake in story. It adds way more to it when all bits link up.

That means PvP too which I personally don't do much of, but the story would be better for it.
That means raid zone being integrated into the main story as the big baddie there <Not required for the quest section>
That means solo quest being the staging area to setup everything

I see a lot of people freaking out to hell over a bit of story in a dungeon like they are going to miss THE most important part. The real thing of it is, it would be *better* if ALL the game was included, stuff those guys or myself included didn't enjoy.

I didn't purchase it yet, but it has nothing to do with solo dungeon mode. I just want to finish Three daedra story in Morrowind-CWC-Summerset first.
However, I think solo dungeons is a good thing. Not long ago a Russian Youtube channel started the series of Undaunted chronicles, in that video series they tell dungeon stories in detail, and though I've been in Banished Cells dungeon like 100 times before, the video made me suddenly realize that this dungeon has a quite interesting story. I'm pretty sure that the reason why I didn't get the story before is that it's a group dungeon, and I mainly go to the dungeons for skill points and gear sets, and during the dungeon run I mostly look after my group mates than the story.
One of the two of us definitely has gone mad. It only remains to define whether this one is the whole world or just me.
