I've played the game since June 2015 and never bought ESO plus, recently, I got so tired of inventory management, I went and bought ESO plus for three months, and this is possibly the best purchase I've made on the game, the unlimited crafting space is amazing, and the double bank space is also great. On top of all of that, you get 10% bonuses for lots of things (xp, research specifically). You also get crowns for each month of ESO you purchased which allows you to buy anything else you want in the crown store. I think its great for the craft bag alone.

Yes. Worth it as a package.

The game can easily be played without the crafting bag. It might be the biggest reason that people have ESO Plus, but it is not mandatory. Nothing about ESO Plus is mandatory. Secretly, or otherwise.

I actually find the bank space to be harder to live without.

Depends. If you need 1500 crowns, then yes, definitely worth it. If you want to try a DLC without buying it, then yes it is worth it.
If you have all DLCs and plenty of inventory room, all costumes dyed, all your houses furnished the way you want, then probably not.

You can certainly do without, but crafters will get withdrawal symptoms soon without their craft bag and so do decorators. Pro tip: if your inventory is full and you have at least one trustworthy friend who logs in regularly, send him/her a mail with things that clog your inventory so they can return the mail to you. Your mail box will become a temporary item storage able to hold 6 stacks of items for 30days per mail.

It's a decision you have to make yourself based on how often you play & how much of that game time you are willing to dedicate to organisation & inventory control.

I cancelled my sub a few months back because I wasn't playing much ESO & was putting more of my game-time in another game.. but when I started to play more ESO again.. I just didn't want all my game time to be consumed with tedious inventory control & so I re-subbed. So I don't think it's 'required" but for me it is currently worth it.

Hard to say, if u like hoarding and crafting its secretly mandatory. or a very expensive qol improvement that saves u from relogging to storage alts.

If u want to do (enjoybale) vet random dungeons, u r better of without it.

My vote goes to "not at all", cause im still salty for last year:
Main "feature" of sub is free dlc access, there was 2 real dlcs: summerset, i had to buy it extra cause we call them chapter and murkmire, which was a "free" login reward in november. thus the sub gave me free access to nothing. tyvm!

In some situations where you don't own any of the content? Absolutely. If you bought the ESO Collection and you're only missing the dungeon DLCs plus Murkmire and Clockwork City? Nah. If you're like me and you prefer to buy the DLCs outright? Absolutely not.

There's a large segment of the playerbase that falls into these gaps where it's not worth it and I'm not going to start subscribing after spending hundreds of dollars on the chapters and DLCs.
Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 11 years. 8 paid expansions. 29 dungeon and zone DLCs. 45 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. Just because Cadwell Silver&Gold failed doesn't mean the game should be brain dead easy forever.

The way I look at it if I play the game three hours a month it is cheaper entertainment than going to see a movie. Yeah I know I can play for free at this point but I am having fun and subscribing is a way to support the game.

@Enemoriana You are right, they added 150 crowns on that. However my point there was that 1500 crowns cost the same as one month of ESO+. So if you want to buy 1500 crowns, buy ESO+ instead and get both crowns and benefits.

Definitely worth it for me but it depends on your circumstances. If I find a game meets my needs, I play it exclusively for several years. And I play a lot. So I definitely feel I get my value.

I find the crafting bag very helpful, followed closely by the ability to dye costumes at will.

Offsetting some of the cost with 'free' crowns is valuable to me as I enjoy sometimes shopping at the crown store.

Not a hoarder or housing hound so the double bank/house slots are nice but not essential to me.

With the reparsing of some DLC into 'Chapters' in order to exclude them from ESO+, the DLCs that actually are free now seem primarily group dungeons with mechanics that are so obtuse I can't even stand to watch a You Tube run of them - much less ever consider playing them. So I view the 'free DLC' as once a good deal but valueless to me now.

The XP boost is also of no value to me as I very rarely start new chars and don't care how long it takes to level one up.

Never thought I would buy it (I was pissed at this game in 2016) but I bought it this month and it's well worth it. The crafting bag alone is worth it., then add the double bank space, extra crowns, extra XP etc and I'm sold.

Not really "worth" it, but neccessary if you play often and craft, farm etc. Nowadays most people seem conditioned to accept a subscription fee as worth it for fluff and things that should he included in the base game. They seem to enjoy handing over any amount of cash to game companies in ever increasing numbers.

I'm a pack rat, so the extra storage space and craft bag is really worthwhile to me. I also have a big house so the more item slots provided from ESO+ is also appealing.
I also don't feel like it's something you HAVE to have tho, just to play. I've gone some time before without a sub and not felt like I was really missing out.
The crowns every month are nice too because while I'm not a big crown store shopper, getting them monthly lets me save up and usually be able to buy whatever I want if something does show up in the store that catches my fancy without having to buy crowns.

I love the sub. The crafting bag is by far the most substantive bonus, to be sure. But I like the crown "allowance" also - it's nice to have a pre-committed allotment of money that I have effectively already spent on the game, to pick up the occasional thing I want when it's offered in the crown store. Also, free access to all dlc's is nice, because I almost always "buy" the dlc's, usually when they're on sale, with my "free" crowns (they're not really free, I know), but I get them at like 25%-50% off, which is nice.

It's a convenience, but I do feel like I get my money's worth out of it, all things considered.

Pretty good to acces all content imo.
And since you got crown each time you sub, at the end you can buy the DLC you really need and later stop eso+ if you want.
The crafting bag is also very help full, but I don't think it's mandatory if you just sell stuff at regular time and extend your bag to max.
My friend don't have eso+ and buy few DLC, but now he regret a bit, should have just do like me to acces to all, it's cheaper to start with eso+ than buy all dlc in a row if you can afford it.

So, yes, it's definitively worth it but it's not mandatory at all.

Two? Cool. I have never worked up the courage to play two accounts enough to justify ESO Plus on both of them.

I'm.... an altoholic. I have so many character ideas.... so many names, so many back stories.

For reference back when I played WoW, I had seven accounts maxed (70 characters). I played them all depending on which one poked at me on at a given moment. RIFT I had 5 accounts, same thing with maxed and I played whichever character poked at me. I had spreadsheets to keep track of them.... Well, I still have spreadsheets.... I'm a bean counter in many ways... sue me?

Now, I'm a bit more money-limited. But I can fund two accounts, and the crowns are nice.

I REALLY like this game, even though the combat situation isn't optimal. It's not (OH LORD I never thought I'd say this....) as easy as WoW or RIFT. The combat is very difficult with sub-optimal connection - which is what I have. And the mini-bosses in the quest lines.... I just can't manage them on anything but pet classes.

Still, I have fun. So I'm happy to help out with sub money.

Thanks for the reminder. I ment to cancel my membership and just did. Thing is, I was supporting Zenimax with two memberships, one on PC, the other on Xbox One. Since I don't play much on PC lately, I canceled it. After all, I am not seeing the "great rewards" where I need to spend more money to claim them.

That said, I find it worth it IF I am playing. Since I am playing 2 or 3 times a week on Xbox, it's still worth it for me. As soon as I play less, I will cancel it. After all it's only worth it if I am playing.

The "new perks" for ESO+ is a slap in the face. What is so great about being have to spend more money to get benefits for a membership where people who don't have a membership can't buy it? Talk about "you can only buy stuff from us if you pay us with a membership". Who's stupid idea is that? "Exclusive"? What is so exclusive if I have to pay to be able to buy from you? How stupid is that.

So yeah, because of this, I dropped a subscription since I wasn't gaining anything new with the slap to the face. Other than that, it's worth when playing.

Obviously your options to spend $20 are virtually unlimited. But, given those two choices....
