Fiery Breath 10 Meter Range v. Scorch/Arrow Spray/Blessing of Protection/Encase/Wall of Elements etc

The current range of the Dragonknight's skill Fiery Breath and its morphs is inconsistent to similar skills that are conal, aoe, and require aim:

✭Not sure why you included Encase in there as a comparable skill... Encase is not a damage dealing skill, and even if you use the shattering prison morph the damage is negligible and not considered a selling point.
Puncturing Strikes (Templar) would be a better direct comparison, and it has an 8m x 6m range.Feric51

Damage isn't relevant to the type of skill (see Blessing of Protection, which doesn't do damage either). These are skills that are conal/aoe in effect.
I don't think Puncturing Strikes is a good comparison because it functions differently -- as a spammable melee range skill.2 -

Andele✭✭Personally id love it if it became a channeled skill, base damage and debuffs applying even if tapped, but instead of a dot, it repeated 15% of its cost to deal half the damage every 0.5s while the cone keeps growing.
But then again most of my ideas go against ESO combat/stacking as many dots while canceling instants for pve or burst for pvp.0 -

Comparable total dmg - comparable mechanic.
However breath offers a unique debuff on top increasing all fire dmg by 10% and costs about 20% less - which imo warrants the lower range.
Not totally opposed to increasing the range if other numbers get tweaked though.<Noricum>

Yes I think it’s not the range but the hit box that is the issue (along with the ever present asynchronicity in PvP). IIRC ZOS put in a fix with one of the last patches, but I need to dust off my DKs to see if that helped.

Disagree. DK is melee, yes, but that does not mean everything they do should be melee. Templars are melee (because of jabs) but a lot of their attacks are ranged.0
