The way ESO handle important NPCs after quest is a mess

So today I just feel like wonder around after my fish pickle expire so I'm done fishing, and suddenly I want to visit the lords of daggerfall covenant and to see what happened to them after their quests are done

And I met such a disappointment

High King Emeric - Didn't check on him, but I remember last time I visit wayrest palace he wasn't there
Countess Eselde Tamerith - Not in Shorehelm palace after quest is done, even tho the crowd and guards are all around the palace just like when the quest is finished
Baron Alard Dorell - Not in Northpoint, same like Tamerith nowhere to be found
King Fahara'jad - Not in Sentinel palace, even tho the npcs in the palace said he is holding the court and there are many nobles waiting to speak to him

The only one important lord I see is Queen Arzhela in Evermore, and guess what, Darien is standing next to her like nothing happened to him

I missed some lords, like King Casimir of Daggerfall, so I am not sure if they are around

It doesn't feel good that after the quests are done, those supposely very important figures are just vanished. It's like if you only get to see Sylvannas during quests in WOW, and rest of the time she is nowhere to be found.

There really should be a "default" location of those important characters, they should go back to their palace if no active quests of player are associated with them.

@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom Just something I wish ESO can fix, doesn't feel right that those faction leaders just dissappear. and I only visited lords of DC, I'm sure AD and EP have similar problem as well

I feel the same way about... well,
Darien Gautier. you can ignore the whole questline in DC, then do summerset quests and he still can shout at you in shornhelm "welcome to rivenspire, the land of women and war!"

That's the drawback of “play how you want”, recurring characters will always be in a “paradox” state if you didn't do them in the right order

"You don't remember me? I was afraid of that. Meridia told me that time worked differently in Oblivion, but I didn't believe her. What's happened to me hasn't happened to you yet." - Darien

You should be able to find them all after their associated quests are done:

    - Tamrith and Dorell are both found upstairs in the Shornhelm palace, not with the crowd below.

    - King Casimir can be found on his throne in the Daggerfall Castle.

    - High King Emeric can be found in Wayrest Castle, he has some very entertaining conversations with his wife by the throne area.

    - King Fahara'jad will stay in the Impervious Vault (I do agree he should be taken back to Sentinel instead).

    I hope that helps!

My biggest disappointment regarding significant NPCs after their quest line is Velaste of the Mages Guild if you choose for her to be returned to the Mages Guild.
PC NA(no Steam), PvE, mostly solo

Continuity with respect to NPCs definitely leaves A LOT to be desired. Other than the above, I remember Queen Ayrenn is both crying in a house and standing around in Dune after a ceremony that's been over for literally years (in my main character's timeline).

One of my EP characters who got to level 50 doing Mages' Guild questline, Fighters' Guild questline, and delves/public dungeons got the Messages Across Tamriel quest and travelled to the capitals to be told by the DC and AP leaders that they knew of my exploits and of all the aid I'd given Jorunn (uh, I'd never even met the man, though I've heard he's a bit of a drunk :innocent: ). That same character got "MY FRIEND!"-ed by Razum-dar in Summerset despite the fact that they'd never met before.

Another character who leveled exclusively in Hew's Bane (doing the Thieves Guild questline, delves, WBs and farming) and never set foot in any of the other zones got called "hero" by Naryu even though the character's more of a zero, really.

I do understand that in a game this massive that allows so much player choice it's inevitable that some things are going to make you go "buh?", but having important NPCs recognise player characters who'd never actually met them is at the top of my personal pet peeve list. I get that it'd be expensive to record NPC dialogue to cover this kind of thing, though.
AD is the best looking faction. I don't make the rules, I just enforce them.

Why would you choose that anyway.

Further proof that the other option is the right option.
    For everyone!

Maybe you did a delve quest in the Gold Coast that has Razum-Dar in it?

That's how my main met Razum-Dar for the first time.

Nope, I should have specified that I only did basegame delves on that toon. I know the delve you're talking about though -- THAT encounter was actually well done, because I remember a character who'd never met Razum-dar was greeted with mild suspicion/standoffishness in that delve, whereas my AD main got "my friend"-ed, as she should have.
