maintenance EU vs US

Am I missing something or is the EU servers maintenance expected to last 4 hours more than the US server? Whats this? What about you getting your *** together and start offering eu same service as us

Its more likely thats a writing error due to time zone calculations being effin hard apparently.

dont think so...07:00 EST to 11:00 EST is not just 1 typo, especially since 1, 7 and0 arent even close to each other on a keyboard ^^

But have to take side with the OP in this manner...WHY does EU take 4hrs longer than NA?
@ZOS_GinaBruno plase explain this, we have no problem with having longer maintenance, IF you can provide a reasonable explanation for it.

16 UTC -> 17 CET so start of Primetime for many ppl, but in the past you most of the time were quicker, so hopefully nothing unplanned happens, and you guys can make it in time

Not sure if it's correct or not, sadly we won't find out for some hours as Gina/Jess won't be in the office for a while.

It could be correct though, I mean they are different servers, so maybe EU has something additional which needs to be done.

well there are many other ppl working at ZOS, so someone should be entitled enough to give us a quick answer....its enough if they say " Eu servers had had troubles in the past with Patching, the prolonged maintenance is planned to adress this issue"..and I m already stisfied

i wont get home till 1630 UTC anyways, so maintenance should be over by then, but communicating why it will take longer would still be appreciated for many ppls (including me)

Maybe the maintenance isn't simultaneously done? So the NA server is worked first, then when that's done (4 hours later) they begin work on the EU server?

I was asking myself the same thing. Although the wording is a bit harsh. They make money when the servers are online; they don't add a couple offline hours just to annoy us. At least that's what I'd presume.

And who knows. maybe they are going to install a bunch additional racks to address the "infinite loading screens" problem? I'd say that would be worth it.

Yes - Thank you. But this brings more questions:
Why does NA not need the update - was it already updated, whilst EU was kept behind or will NA get it later ?
What Software-update ? Is it related to hardware and if so is it different (better/worse) than NA?
NA still clearly needs more than a full reboot as 3h is long for that kind of boots with accurate amount of people preforming it.

Well, i have my Main Server as NA but, as i life at German/Dutch Border, i also play on EU. I had in the last Week far more Proplems on the EU Server then on the NA Server. If this Software Update does help with performance i would really love it. I did this Morning some EU Stuff, when NA is up, i do some Farming there

well, i play on booth Servers and the EU Server thought its far nearer to me had a lot of Problems, yesterday i crashed multiple Times while having no problems on NA Server also, random FPS and Latency Drops that i do not know in this Severity on the NA Server right now

Well, if this maintenance addresses the lag problems people have had from two day ago, I am just fine with the delay. Maybe the US servers didn't have such problems.

If that was the case the EU one would also start 4 hours later.

Which actually would have been perfect for me, because then it would have been online in the morning when I wanted to play and it would be going offline in about 10 minutes when I need to leave home anyway. As it is I'm likely to miss the entire day, because by the time the server is back online I won't be able to get in-game.

Good thing I didn't want any more of the login rewards this month I guess.

Damn, what servers are they using, 3 hours for a reboot? Maybe i can dust off my Commodore Vic 20 and they may get some upgrade that way.

And it's not all EU server, the Xbox one is also 3 hours, i just think the people that handle the EU server are just damn lazy or plain bad at the job, f.. can't take this long.

It must be a patch as they need an additional 4 hours to get it to work with Steam again. Shorter than the last time, which was 24hrs unable to log in.

all I hope this maitenance get rid of sick loading screens in EU which we get lately
but as others said...thi sould be great if anyone from ZOS could said to us their are working additionally on it as reason for much longer maitenance then on NA on which loading screens was not a problem as I have seen on forums

I play both US and EU servers.
Although US is more distant for me and ping almost never drops below 100, more like 200 average which is 2-3 worser than EU, gameplay at US server feels better: I don't remember any loading screens in the middle of nowhere, connection is quite stable and so on.
Peaks of ping at EU is worser, lots of loading screens, I don't fast mount in Deshaan to prevent loading screens (doesn't help always), it takes up to 30 seconds for NPCs to appear sometimes, 3-4 connection losts per week and quite unplayable at prime time.

So EU players are served as secondary class players.

That's what I can assure you.

The biggest economy is served the best.

Most likely due to server nodes beinv larger for the EU server than the NA sever

If you have a fleet of cars to valet it will take longer on a fleet of 50 than a fleet of 20

If this is the case then the EU server should come down when they are being worked on.

I also am not to bothered about them being down for longer if the work needs to be done but a bit of communication relating to this before hand would be appreciated

But if it is the case that they came across an error during the maintenance process then a quick message to say so would also go a long way to alleviate the feelings EU players are feeling at this moment.

Not only that - it´s also comfortably at nighttime for US and during daytime for EU.

Also happened quite a few times in the past - this is just the first time i´m aware that zos admits to flatout longer EU downtime.
