Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – April 6

If CP is going to remain in game but capped forever at a number, what CP should be the forever cap?

I would say 1080cp is good.
First it's a good number unilke 810 XD
Second it allows people to aim for all champion perk if they reallly want to

    1080CP would be nice, yes.

Even at 810, I don’t feel I have enough points in the Warrior constellations for PvP.

I really don't think CP is staying. The decision to put it on hold signals that they are going to look at it and change it at some point.

Hopefully, ZOS will remove the current CP system entirely and introduce a new system which can be better in regard to combat balance & rewards for veteran players.
Some videos I recorded for fun: Main character:
PC EU main: Universe - AD magicka Sorcerer, Former Emperor, Grand Overlord, The Merciless, Trial Bosses Solo Champion
Top alts: Genius(stamina/sagicka Dragonknight) The Force(stamina Nightblade) and other chars.
PC NA main: The Magic - AD magicka Sorcerer

    3600 caps r stupid.

id prefer a system where u can pick passives like in a skilltree and have to make choices (and r also able to redo the points and load in another 'build' in under 2 clicks). the amount of cp should unlock new skills the higher u get and increase the impact of the passives. so that u actually feel stronger when 'leveling' up.

it should atleast get capped for pvp, its alright for pve. or normalized for everyone entering cp cyrodiil. it takes months as a casual to get to 300+ cp before they can start having fun in cp pvp

    doubt it
They would need to rebalance a lot of stuff if CP is removed entirely.

Previously vet rank only got a dozen or so, so it was easy to rebalance

Now there are players from 10cp to 810 cp? rebalance entirely will be hard

360 or 720 I think are good caps. The lower the cap, the easier it is to balance the game around without gutting every class, set, skill, etc.

1000, and the 1000th cp can be used on some special perk or smth, so all 3 get 333 each

I hope I didn't imply that I thought they could remove it properly. They will do something and whether the end result is at all balanced is anyone's guess.

I don't think there should be any cap but that is assuming they rework cp system all together. That is assuming that rework would involve removing the stat increases and attribute increases but exclusively offer the conditioned bonuses such as wind running. Also I say no cap because it provides some way of 'leveling'

Edit: they would add a lot more of those conditional bonuses of course.

Have 2 CP trees. The first is fixed and stops at 400ish and offers combat benefits. Force players to specialise and spend points wisely, also get rid of the whole number percentage jump points.
The second tree would have a cap that increases each update and only offers non combat perks eg master crafter, reduced repairs and other new effects.

810 isn't bad. It's 270 per constellation, which aligns well with the current perk thresholds (120+75+75, or 120+120+30). 1080 (letting you have every perk in every branch) is too much IMO, with almost no tradeoffs. And the grind to max level increases for new players with each update.

Maybe it should have even stopped around 600, though the dps gain from 600 to 810 is only about 6%. We also got another 4% or so when two handed weapons got a 2nd set bonus.

I'd support some kind of horizontal progression after the cap, though I can't think of what that should be. I also wouldn't mind if they reduced the XP per champion point by about 1/3rd or so to let new players reach the cap using just one year of enlightenment XP.

    3600

For those who want to limit or cancel CP points: get ready for TIER armor and sets.
New DLC -> new tier -> new grind.

    Run, Forrest, run
EU: Beatrice gra-Brog, Rebellie, Yshterie, Jearra , Lirielline
Christess, Fleuretta, Jubilee Cake, Braviliana, Onyxette
M'adjirra, Dances-around-Nirn, Nerieth, Estrice, Ann der Wood
    Éternelle, Burns-all-the-babies, Jyggurag
NA: Dice Twice, Nikka from the barrel

You know very well CP is in the process of getting deleted. Stopping the increase every patch is the first step.

I'd be in favor of stopping CP at 999. Rebalance the system around that cap, then stop changing it. End the Power Creep -> Nerf cycle. It's time for something new to define endgame progression.

i would reduce it to 500 ( so new people wont start cutting their veins from the CP grind jut to be at a competitive level )
meanwhile 500 still takes some time so its not actually that easy and fast to get to..

Then reward people that are Above 500 with something from the New system that gets implemented...

people saying 1000+ etc etc are just ridiculous and don't think outside of the box..

I like the idea of 1080. We would still have to make the choice to put exactly 120 in every tree to get all of the higher stars, or to optimize the % bonus and give up some of the 120 tree bonuses. For example, I don’t think most Magicka builds would get 120 points into the Ritual for the Last Stand passive, since the only star they benefit from there is Thaumaturge.

Failing at that, I think 900 is a nice clean number, with 300 in each color group and 100 average in each constellation.

I think they should increase the base level say from 50 ten per dlc add new abilities to each class with new morphs. Increase it to 70 by 2020. People will be raging about farming gear again? Well increase the upgrade item drop rate to lower the value sinstantially. Put less emohasis on upgrade mats and more emphasis on farming for sets.

It's good that CP lets you customize your character more but it can't get to the point that new players are always chasing moving goal posts.

Without some kind of character progression, the game will get stale. Having more powerful gear procs is not character progression.

    100 overtime damage.

I think the cp system should be replaced with another system, preferably one of class oriented perks and talents instead of % based homogenized passives. Any system that would replace or overhaul cp should allow players to keep their previous progression and the cap of the new system would be debatable and dependent on how it was implemented.

I think a progression system should help make each class feel more, like their class, for lack of a better description. Instead of homogenizing everything and forcing classes to be stripped of their individual power due to cp, a progression system that complimented each class separately would be excellent.

I think a system where each class could unlock and choose from dozens of perks like Shadowstrike for the stealth based Nightblade class, or Riposte for the Dragonknight with block mitigation passive and Spiked armor, and Arcane Well for the future death-centric Necromancer class would be fitting, fun, and feel powerful.

Whatever the new system might be, I hope desperately that it's not gear based, like in World of Warcraft.
The endless gear treadmill leads to burn out, and it feels awful when a new patch or expansion, (chapter in ESO) comes along and makes all your hard won gear obsolete. Feels bad to have your legendary gear you worked hard for replaced by quest green gear. Leads to a feeling of "Why bother?"

    No thanks...I'll pass on that...

I honestly think the Champion Point System should have a negative stat with each positive stat.

So the more points you put in a node, the better you get at one thing, but the worse you get at another.

What about progression? It doesn't feel so good to know that this is it and there will never be higher CP limit or sth like that. Even when I hit max CP I still thought: "great now just only 30cp more and I will be ready for the next dlc".

Whatever changes are coming I hope that we will still have some sense of progression.
I would also like it if changing cp was free. I do mind wasting 3k gold every time I switch from pve to pvp build. It's one of the reasons why I play only non cp pvp.

That way it becomes a specialization system instead of a widening power creep blanket.
