If we are offered a free race change token, shouldn't we also get a free name change token?

I mean, ZOS would want players to still feel immersion after their character change their race, right ;)?

EDIT:
Okay, gonna share my thought after reading all these posts

ZOS chose to give us a token due to them knowing the racial change is too big this time that they must allow players to make some level of change.
Generous, but it will only be for min/maxers (those that care only about combat)if we can't change our character's name.

Agreed. Should be embedded within. I am sure there are even min/maxers who also RP a bit, right.

But it won't happen because people will now have to BUY name changes. If it doesn't change... scummy move zos. Damn scummy. And that's coming from someone who isn't going to change any race at all.

People know when they're getting screwed around. It'll hurt you in the long run.

What in Peter's name are you talking about? That they give us a free racial change to change something they did, that worked well for years? Somehow people are entitled for asking to be able to change their names to keep somewhat their characters that they worked on for years and, somehow, that is shameful?

Totally agree. This is a RPG and as such many people have a race specific names. Giving us a race change without the ability to also change our characters name name is extremely frustrating.

You would think a brand with the history and Lore of Elder Scrolls would appreciate that fact.

Think you are missing the context. The OP is referring to the free race change token we are being 'given' due to to the changes in racial Passives coming with the next DLC.

    Missing nothing here.
We had, have and would have lots of changes. And I don't remember any free change tokens before.
Now we have another change which is actual to maybe 3-4% of players and they are granted with free race change. And they don't stop whining and wanting for more free stuff.

According to LORE there are no race change tokens at the very first place.
So rather stay lore-sided and stick to the race-name original combination or play lore-wrong with free race change token.

    Can't be both.

According to Lore: gods and planets changed and granted bonuses is changed.
    It happens.

There's no min-max in the lore.

I do not believe there has ever been such a comprehensive overhaul of racial passives before, has there? So it would stand to reason that they have not been offered before. On the other hand, when large number of skill changes were implemented, the Skill Change cost has been reduced to 1g for a short period of time on multiple occasions.

Now we have another change which is actual to maybe 3-4% of players and they are granted with free race change. And they don't stop whining and wanting for more free stuff.

You have no idea how many players it affects. And yes, we have been granted 1 free race change token. Or 1/15th of the number of tokens a player could potentially require.

As for whining and wanting more free stuff - what's it to you, if you are not affected by it? A name change is free. It harms no one. It costs ZOS nothing to make happen. It garners good will, instead of frustrating the fan base it affects. It a simple solution to a problem of ZOS' own creation. So, why would you want to prevent this from happening?

Thats the trick. You get a free race change then feel obligated to buy a name change too. Cash store items have 0 value other than the one ZO$ put on them, they could charge $1 or $100 for a change so giving them out for free doesn't make them saints but it does get them good PR with the shills.

Only top players who play ESO for leaderboards.
I have 34 lvl 50 toons, all race presented so I don't need any race change tokens.
So 1/15 is simply numbers play, not actual argument.
If you have 15 toons, you'd play another one more often. You won't need 15 race change tokens.

    No more arguments then, huh?

According to LORE and TRADITIONS you can't change your race at the very start.

The fact that you think only 'top players' who fight for leaderboard positions are the only ones that would want to change their race based on the changes to passives, doesn't make it so.
I have 34 lvl 50 toons, all race presented so I don't need any race change tokens.

Good for you. But again, I ask if it doesn't affect you, why would you want to prevent someone that it *does* affect from having it?
So 1/15 is simply numbers play, not actual argument.

You seem to have missed the fact I used the word "potentially". I try not to make assumptions, so yes, a player could potentially have up to 15 characters they would like to change the race of as a result of the upcoming changes. And no it wasn't an argument, it was just a statement of fact to put ZOS' 'free gift' into context.

Only minmaxers fighting for extra 0.1% do. Who else?

Still. I don't see any argument.
It costs ZOS zero is not an argument. Why care if anything costs zero in game?
Lore forbids racial change. So LORE and TRADITIONS are not arguments.

Once again. Why do you need race change?
    To do min-max?

Players that have characters that are based around certain passives. i.e. Those who play non dps roles, or who PVP. For example, I have a bosmer pvp character that was built especially to play a stealthy style of play. Her ability to be stealthy has now been reduced, so I am faced with the choice of playing sub optimally, changing the play style, or switching to a different race. None of that has to do with dps performance.
Still. I don't see any argument.

Zos obviously disagree. They are giving one free race change token. So why not make it a race/name change token instead?
It costs ZOS zero is not an argument.

You were complaining about players whining. It was part of a question asking you why you wish to prevent players getting a name change to go along with the race change. A question you have now failed to answer twice.
Lore forbids racial change. So LORE and TRADITIONS are not arguments.

ESO mechanics allow you to change race, and change your name, so what's your point? If you want to argue these options shouldn't be in the game, great, but that's a different subject. As they are in the game it only makes logical sense that if a player uses those mechanics to change race, they would also want to change their name if their current name is not appropriate to their new race.

    Yes, we should.

Regardless of how realistic, lore and tradition breaking the Vestige suddenly changing their race is, the fact remains that ZOS has chosen to allow players to change their race and name through Crown Store tokens.

ZOS has chosen to offer a single free Race change token.

This does not include a name change token.

Anyone who uses that free race change token and who named their original character according to their race will now either be left with an inappropriate name or have to buy a name change token to correct it.

This is either an oversight that will be corrected, a lack of care on ZOS' part for the naming lore, or a cash grab.

As for anyone devil's advocating about lore and tradition not allowing race changes, that boat sailed a long time ago when ZOS introduced those tokens to the Crown Store. ZOS has made it so that the Vestige can change races, midgame, and NPCs won't care, along with giving themselves the ability to suddenly change the racial passives of entire races, midgame. The argument over whether or not ZOS should have done that is tangential to the argument "Since they have done that, should they include a name change token with the free race change they offered."

Wait what? Me defend Zenimax? Never. I give credit when credit is due, but Zenimax is not due any credit. Thing is though my point stands. Someone gets gets something for free, but yet wants more. If Zenimax didn't give anything, I am sure the person wouldn't be asking for a name change token but a race change token. So, given an inch but takes a mile.

How on Earth am I defending Zenimax here?
