Crown crates

I have never understood, if you dont like the odds of crown crates, why buy them? The mounts or decorations are not necessary to be good whatsoever. I dont like the odds, hence I have never bought them.
Why is this even an issue?

Because people want everything for free and for the game to miraculously fund itself at the same time.

You can buy them with gold in game now if you trust the person gifting them to you, or vice versa

Exactly. I agree. I don't understand why people who don't like the odds just to not buy them. It is just decorations. Any potions, foods or experience scrolls are craftable.

Clearly you're a thread troll, already seen you around trolling threads looking for reactions, they sell houses in game for almost $150USD, they sell mounts for $30-40USD, almost every sane player in the game pays for the subscription in this game just for the crafting bag alone for $15USD, then on top of that if you don't pay for it then you have to pay not only for the expansions but the DLC's and they sell gambling crates to boot with items in them that you can't get anywhere else. They make a lot of money out of the game just on subs, and then the overpriced crowns are just a sweet topping for them to fill their pockets. It's not about wanting anything for free, and it's about fairness, you make things sound as if they're black and white when their not.

The shop should really only consist of mounts, costumes, pets. Other things that affect the economy in any way should not be there period.

It's literally to try to get the mounts they have in them, the only reason anyone would really want them.

Would you please link to Zeminax’s official disclosure of the odds? Oh wait... there isn’t any. In spite of this being gambling, it isn’t regulated as such so they are not legally required to disclose the odds. That brings up the very real issue of gambing addiction, which yes, is a very real issue. Even sans addiction, crown crates are predatory marketing. Frankly, that describes the crown store in general, but gamble crates are by far the worst example of that.

Also keep in mind many players couldn’t care less about “being good” the way you understand it. Their “being good” does necessitate decorations and cosmetics.

When you can ride these (for example):

The bottom ones are necessary to feel good when riding :)

Okay, so here are the odds. They are very very poor. Don't buy them if you don't Want? Will knowing the exact odds of getting what you want actually change how many you buy? Even if the odds are 10:1, it still doesn't mean that even if somebody bought 100 a person would get what they want.
If the odds are ever released, then we would be bombarded with threads that somebody bought 10 and still didn't get what they want. A guildie of mine bought 3 yesterday and got 2 mounts, but he was lucky. Statistically speaking that is almost impossible, but he got lucky. Some people will not be lucky.
If some people have a gambling problem, that is nobody else's fault. If somebody is an alcoholic, should there be no alcohol ever?
Let people who want to buy them, and if somebody doesn't like it, don't buy them.

Playing the “victim” card always works with forum-goers and the devs alike ... especially if we’re talking about purely cosmetic items.

Yes, it would. It already has, because I look at actual odds compiled from a PC add-on.

Speaking of that, ‘very very poor’ is not telling anyone the odds. This, on the other hand, is - https://www.crowncrates.com

Good website. So now people can see. Still doubt it will change people.
The lottery in states have odds, and people with gambling addiction still constantly buy them.
Is the thing that people REALLY want are better odds and blame others when they buy a crate knowing they are not assured of getting what they want, and dont want to take responsibility for their choices?

True, you are correct. It did change you. I did mean people in general. Since you posted that page, now everyone can see.

In the end, I still believe will complain.

With that $15 a month, I also get 1650 crowns. Those add up. I buy things with them. I have now acquired all mounts, pets, and started buying houses for $15 a month. People don't have to be impulsive, and many are not.
