I wish the main map would show quest givers. Is there a reason this game lacks simple game mechanics that would enhance the quality of in game life?

They show up at black arrows on the compass for me as long as you are near enough.

Why would your map have that information? It's weird enough that it can show you where a completely unknown location is before you've found it.

Why would that be weird? So its weird to want to know where to get the next quest instead of guessing? Weird is what it is that it does not do that already.

Because the Elder Scrolls series has always had a slightly more grounded and realistic feel to it. Maps that magically display quest-givers would be a little strange. More importantly, you're supposed to find new things (like quests) by exploring. Your compass lets you know when a quest-giver is close.

    Instead of 'guessing' try 'exploring'.

You might actually enjoy it. It can be very rewarding in this game.

Wow, aren't the arrows over their heads and on your compass enough hand-holding?
There are quests pretty much everywhere. Find any unexplored part of your map, go there, there will be quests.

Notice how your map has black icons designating various areas? If the icon is still black there are quests in that area or associated with it you haven't done.
