Best magicka NB race with Update 21

I've been thinking a lot about changing my High Elf to Dark Elf in the previous patches. So now I'm quite glad that I did nothing to my race - still Altmer. But what about the next Update? What will be the choice among Altmer, Dunmer, and Khajit. Have you tried the dummy on PTS?

As it stands now, Breton if you want sustain without worrying.
Khajiit if you want maxium damage, but can sustain well.

Altmer and Dunmer work as well, but neither of them beats either Breton in sustain or Khajiit in damage. They are better if you value additional flexibility (Health and stamina for example)

Altmer or Khajiit going from dunmer to altmer on the pts is more than enough sustain so I don't see the point of Breton. Assuming no changes I will be switching to altmer when the patch hits. I don't like playing beast races and I'd rather have the versatility of spell damage and max mag for times when I run a healer build or pvp.

So Altmer for pvp still, how does Breton hold up in pvp? On my stam builds i always have high regen but my magblade is 1700 (which is fine)

I can't speak for pvp, I just know that between Khajiit and Altmer, Altmer will better in a wider variety of builds.That and crit isn't very useful in pvp.

The point of Breton, is you need no sustain. You can use blue bufffood and definately need no regen glyphs. So you can get to enjoy some benefits that other races can't comfortably use.

Breton:

Blue Food > Witchmothers = +1884 HP +1744 Magicka (~166 spell power)
+1-2 spell power enchants = +174-348 spell power
Spell power weapon glyph > Absorb magicka = +348 spell power

Basically Breton gains you ~1.9K HP 1.75K Magicka and 688-862 spell power before any mathy mathys multipliers and things if you ditch all things that give you regen. I'm not sure if that completely balances out though.

Personally, I have tried all but 3 races for my Magblade on the PTS. I am a PVP player, so ignore this if you're looking for a PVE opinion.

My top picks are:

Altmer- The damage on Altmer, combined with it's sustain bonus allows me to run 1 Magicka Recovery Enchant, 1 Max Health Enchant, and still have higher damage and recovery than my Argonian Magblade on the live servers.

Bosmer- An odd pick for sure. I liked Bosmer for their mobility. Imagine this: You're on you're refreshing path, being pressured. You roll dodge to Shadowy Disguise, giving you 3 seconds of +75% movement speed, or +55% without Concealed Weapon slotted. Combine this with their boost to Max Stamina and Stamina Recovery, they have in mobility what they lack in damage.

breton will be the best all-around pick IMO due to the sustain which will allow you to use blue food.

Altmer, Dunmer, Breton and Khajiit are so close together for Magicka DPS that it basically doesn't matter. The difference between worst and best of them is like 1.5%.
