Housing team: are you reading feedback on the PTS forum?

Hey! LISTEN! The housing community is talking! We're telling you what we like, what we don't, what we want! Took over a year to get 1 furnishing plan that was LOUDLY requested at Morrowind launch! We're giving input about the new houses on PTS... is anyone listening?

For more players than it seems the devs realize, housing *is* endgame. Runing dungeons isn't fun anymore, but I do it for Unduanted Furnishings. I hate endlessly farming for furniture plans, but I can't afford to spend $200 USD (or more) to furnish from the crown store. Nor do I make enough gold in-game to buy furnishings from players (hi, economy devs. Please fix undercutting, kthxbai).

Is *anyone* listening to the housing community? We know Combat team listens: they interact with the forums and make changes based on player feedback. What about housing? Outifts? Every kind of cosmetic? Those are money makers, yes? Please listen when we tell you how we want to spend money! If housing isn't profitable enough, players are giving ideas on how to get money from us!

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom can you pass this post on to whomever needs to see it? Please? Thank you.

Long story short, they don't listen, and they don't care, as long as people keep funneling those dollarz into their store - which they do. Me too, though I've stopped buying any houses for a long time now, and don't plan to get any new ones either (though I see many people still buy them).

I'm not convinced ZOS even has a "team" or a "lead" for cosmetics/outfits/housing/furniture. It seems like something some part-time employee does as a side job, while under the strict supervision of the marketing and monetization team.

Same here. In my opinion, the vast majority of the worthwhile homes are available in the base game for gold and will therefore never entice me to spend real money on the store. Most new houses are too big, uninteresting, or both.

The new PvP house in Elinhir is a step in the right direction, but I'm guessing it's probably absurdly expensive, and also totally useless if you have no interest in PvP at home. Even PvP'ers would very quickly get bored with it. At least they're beginning to listen though -- a home focused on dueling has been requested for quite some time now.

What we need are more small/medium houses and more utility in the homestead system in general.

No, there is a team, or at least a dev that covers housing. I read the forums, I listen in guild chat - all these things that could use updates. Furniture bag? Fixing the UI? Fixing items so the pivots are all standardized? Nothing.

Sure, small changes get made: Murkmire added ramps and platforms, Alinor had ball room flooring, but overall - not that many player requests get heard. New furnishers documents so we can stop paying 500k for purples? Nope. Of all the Morrowind furnishings that were requested... got the Chiminea after 18 months. And a pottery wheel? (there aren't any in game I've seen) And yet another alchemical thing. Glad it doesn't use malachite but, do we need 5 different ones? Why weren't Clockwork Crafting stations at the writs vendors?

Medium homes??? Yay, Frostvault Chasm is medium. I'm ok with this, but those who want to build a big Dwemer structure are complaining (rightly). Arena home? 700. I'm not paying 15k just for the traps and a lava pit.

Housing is still set up as if everyone only has 1 big home they use an bought a bunch of tiny ones for furniture storage, which isn't reality for the majority of housing guild members. No dev interaction: getting a few items out of all the requests, 6 months to over a year later... yay, they listen? How about the rest? Bueller? If we're not getting it, can we know why?

Crown store only, absurdly expensive, and yes, completely uninteresting from a housing point of view, the only selling point being for those who care about duelling in their houses, which I couldn't care less about.

The other Dwemer home is completely uninteresting, offers nothing at all apart from a Dwemer "look", and a frosty one at that, pretty much just empty platforms. Has an absurd low item count for the size and type, and we all know Dwemer stuff is a complete PITA to craft due to recipes not existing at all, or costing millions each, and requiring an absurd amount of frames to craft.

I'll pass on both those houses, as I passed on the Murkmire house, the Hunter's Glade, and pretty much all other Crown Store houses in years.

And fence. But they don't move. I would love an NPC gardner/caretaker.

Or possibly give us something that gives others a reason to visit our house.

Decorating is all well and good, but as it stands unless it is a guild hall with mundus and crafting stations, there is ZERO reason to visit someone's home.

So true. Housing needs some love. We've had a couple minor QoL additions in the two years since release (undo and grouping tool in the editor, storage chests) . There has been no real utility added.

The luxury vendor is about to cycle to its beginning again and I really hope we don't see another year of the same old items with one or two "new" items that are phoned in recolors/resizes.

Each new furnishing theme becomes a bigger and bigger hassle. If it's not abysmal drop rates (Clockwork), it's throttled mats locked behind mindless grinds. (Alinor)

The housing forum is chock a block full of threads with desired items, many of which have models already in the game that seemingly go ignored.

Sorry - went off on a total rant. But I remember being so excited when Homestead was announced and it's become this sad shell.

Edit: Who remembers this? (from before release)
MMORPG: What about using houses for gardening or farming?

RL: For this initial release of housing, we wanted to focus on the homes, collecting furnishings and decorating your home the way you want. We do have plans for a gardening type system at a later date though.

I'd like to see more steps and flooring, in colors other than white. Brown, blue/green, gray, tan, etc.... to match the look of the various houses. The white is very incongruent with a lot of otherwise exceptional builds I've seen. Surely it wouldn't take a lot of time and effort to just recolor the timeworn and limestone steps for other applications? It would generate a lot of good will (and cash, if sold in the crown store) for very little effort.

There have been extremely insightful, well-written, plentiful threads on the Housing sub-forums about the state of housing, what we lack, which features we would like, and so on, but I don't think anyone's listening, because we keep getting huge, crown-exclusive houses, when slot cap is the same, and recipes/material drop rates are still abysmal in some cases. It seems Housing is just a side money maker, because otherwise we'd have the smaller for-gold houses we've been requesting, increased drop rates, more functionality for houses, etc. The housing community is so mind-boggingly brilliant, but if people can't afford homes, or ways to furnish them, they will eventually give up, and Housing as a feature will not reach the amazing potential it has.
