fgoron2000✭✭✭✭There have been threads and comments in the forum that CP is dead, that CP will be removed, that CP will never be increased again, that it's going to be replaced with something else. Don't listen to those comments, it's not what ZOS said either during their twitch announcement stream, nor in the PTS patch notes.
As noted above, they have stated that they are not going to raise the cap for this update, and that they don't currently have plans to raise the cap for the forseeable future. One of the main concerns was apparently the power creep that was being observed, or perceived, by players. They also said that they would continue to monitor the situation, and reevaluate the system at some later time.

But yeah, cp810 halted until further analysis and "fixes"for the system.1 -

That's a bit inaccurate. What was said officially in the stream is that CP gain is halted for the foreseeable future. There was no timetable of how many updates it'll be for. Nor was there any indication that the CP system was or is being updated at this time. What was implied was that they were going to START discussing the CP system while it was halted and see what could be done, which means nothing has happened with it yet. Only that CP gain has been stopped and that the cap would also not be raised for the foreseeable future.. Which implies way more than the next few updates. Might not even be this year. We don't know. But its not likely that it's already being overhauled.

one little correction...CP gain has not been stopped. Enlightenment is still being applied each day, and CP gain is still progressing. What they did do was to suspend raising the usable cap at 810 for the forseeable future, as you noted.
