Actually its been shown that the tooltip for Mag DKs is higher than it was with the flame damage boost.

*sigh* I keep having to post my mediocre dps parses in non-BIS gear in 300 ping to prove it to people MagDKs are fine. Can someone who is better than me at the game do it.

I was skeptical but then I tested it and it was fine.

The MagDK is a way of life, constantly fighting an uphill battle. Each 2-3 months ZoS disappoints us immensely with changes and nerfs. Many people enjoy seeing the newly released patch notes every major release but not the MagDK. We have come to fear them.

The dunmer racial changes are not at all serious. Yes, it'll take a small hit, but there's no need to delete the character or anything like that. Altmer or Breton would be marginally better, but its not the end of the world. I hopped on PTS and felt little to no difference when killing things, including running solo in FG1 on normal.

Dunmer mDK PvE, DPS is a slight hit, it is the sustain that bothers me, they will probably need mag regen enchants on jewelry in order to sustain again Trial / Dungeon boss fights. So it punches a little less, and for a shorter duration. I'll give it a go, but ill probably end up turning my mDK into a Kitteh or Altmer using the free race change token.

I parse higher than that on my dunmer magdk and still it's not good enough to bring to fights like vMOL HM. You know why? Because it takes a melee spot. And after racial changes to dunmer now, I'll probably parse better as stamdk than as magdk But still, even than, a stamnb can parse 50k or more easily with self buffs. For the newer trials like vAS & vCR, you will have problems being melee range dps getting crystals & creepers / game mechanics during progression. I tried bringing magDK to a vAS HM & a vCR progression group and had to switch toons. MagDK is definitely ok for casual content, but it's not "fine" for everything. Dragonknight class needs buffs in general not just magDK. I guess we aren't getting any buffs for pve because in PVP they're doing ok for tanky/dps 1vX builds.

Yeah, but what percentage of the player base is that? If you are looking for top tier dps you'll change race to whatever is BIS you were only playing a race for its stats.

You might as well delete characters and grind new ones because if all you want to do it become the top tier of top tier content. I bet you could grind a new character in 2 days.

The balance team really shouldn't bother to try to satisfy the top tier because something will always be BIS and whatever it is everyone in progression guilds will just spam the hell out of it.

All any casual player needs is 30K dps and they can do everything in the game on normal and a lot of it on Vet that's what 99% of the player base?

Not marginally. In pvp that extra sustain is like gold, meanwhile the weapon damage bonus on DE is a complete waste.

It is extremely perplexing that so many people are willing to discount these changes as "marginal". Would you change a max mag enchant on a ring to weapon damage on your mag DK? How about swapping out the mage mundus stone for the warrior, or using a 5 piece set with weapon damage over one with a mag-related bonus?

No one in their right mind would make such a build, and yet that is what these hybrid damage stats do. Instead of giving the race a unique top spot- which could very easily be achieved - they have made it into a second tier choice for either a stam or mag toon.

Look , i get it. Its not a huge nerf. But this is my point! Why do they always have to subract? They are smart enoughto ( and get paid to) figure out ways to balance things without always making an ebb and flow meta.

You hit 30 when most others do 50. In theory, new dunmer racials should give more dmg. But racials don't matter when it is the class itself that is the issue.

Non Optimal Debuffs and Buffs, 80k+ is possible on Mag DK. The changes in U21 are fine, dps overall needs a break.

Seeing all these "magDK Dunmer is ded" threads makes me really glad I'm not a meta-chasing min/maxer. No offense meant to those who actually play that way and find it fun and all. Rather, I'm glad I'm more of a casual player who's more than happy with her 35-40k DPSing magDK Dunmer because I'm not noticing any real drop in my DPS with the changes I've seen over in the PTS.

To all my fellow casual players who don't chase top raid DPS and the like, don't worry, our magDK Dunmer boys and girls won't suddenly become useless and unplayable. The worst thing is sustain issues, but I've already been dealing with those on my boy and will probably make a few changes once the racial changes hit live to account for it.
