The main reason I made this pool its to try and see the opinion of most forum people and maybe devs attention(I know they read my post >:3) also I think its what puts a thorn in most people ability to play other classes and have alt characters since you turn into a completionist but if your group needs other roles than what your main is and you can actually fulfil that role you will not get it on the character you play the most thus even slowing progression of the said group...
My idea regarding this was to still be able to have individual character achievement counts and scores but to also have an account scoring board, for example if you have 10 characters and you have gryphon heart on 1 of them...the account would table would have it check but the characters only the one who completed it...while still achievable for the rest you still have an overview of your whole account performance...as for rewards to said achievements im not sure but id say collectibles like skins/mementos/personalities could be unlocked via account achievements but titles should be still locked to characters, after all at least from my experience with the people I met they are in for rewards but cant fulfil stuff with their said role cuz they have either no groups or spots for the said role...
Sure this can get shaping and tuning if its taken seriously to be a thing...feel free to add up to it...but I for one who plays 1 character I am a completionist and right now I managed to do almost everything on my main character but I know that almost all of my friends struggle with this and even random people I do achiv hunts for them cuz they cant get grps themselves and such...(yes tank life gets all the good stuff )
The rewards (titles, dyes) are already account-wide. I have most achievements on my main, and not so many on my alts. Each character has precisely the ones they... achieved? That's OK with me.

pretty sure someone who plays stam dd for example and its asked by his raid to come as a mag dd wouldn't be that reluctant to switch or even risk being replaced if he knows he can still get the achivs he wants for it.
yes I also have almost everything done on my main and even more so as a stamblade which lately wasn't that easy to do due to group setups and well lack of them...also since I switched into nb tank I can say I see those things more and more and i just wonder how people feel about...not every1 has my luxury.
i'm also pretty sure i specified that you can still see what each character has precisely achieved.

I can get behind this idea. Nothing that gives skill line progress or skill points. I'm glad op mentioned that titles should be per character, not per account.

After recently playing Guild Wars 2 after I played ESO for years, I thought account wide achievement such as Guild Wars has was a bit weird, but it actually is a good idea and works well.
ESO could definitely use it.
With an OPT-IN option, of course so the people who don't want other people to have shiny things can miss out.

No. Because bragging rights. If someone got Flawless Conqueror on one character, why should that achievement be shared by another character who had no chance in VMA? Case closed.

Yes, but achievements should be divided to two categories: account-wide and character specific.
Those achievements which represent your skill and experience at one certain class and/or character, such as arena achievements, some PvP achievements, quests completed - those should remain character specific.
But those which have nothing to do with specific characters/classes (all fishing achivements, resource gathering, deconstructing items) should be account-wide. Also, imo, master crafter achivements (such as "I've completed 100500 master writs") should be account-wide as well.
And I think dungeon achivements should be account-wide, because though they somehow represent your skill for sure, but there's nothing special to get them again on another character since you're experienced already and you already know dungeon mechanics and tactics and the success is mostly depends on overall group performance than just yours, so this 2nd, 3rd, ..., 15th time when you get them is just a matter of time, and feels like repeating the same thing you've already done again and again.
Update: dailies. All those achievements which are related to daily quests (e.g., holiday events achivements, DLC/chapter prologue dailies) definitely has to be account-wide. Everytime I recall Murkmire prologue dailies I can't sleep at night, I can't imagine how could anyone get "Ready for Murkmire" achivement at all characters, it's just a nightmare, I tell you.

One of the two of us definitely has gone mad. It only remains to define whether this one is the whole world or just me.

Me is russian little bad in english :b
Considering how painful it became to gather again and again and again skill pts in same locations, doing same activities and (in case of mag DPS getting same lorebooks) I would gladly have an option to create character with all skyshards gathered if you have at least 1 character who already did it (only in basic zone tho so we still would need to get DLC ones) and allow us to get mages guild exp by reading 2nd reprint lorebooks we purchase and slot in our homes (it is beyond me why we have so little functions going for housing...)
Sometimes I just wanna create character just so I can jump straight to end game but given my limited time it is quite a big (and boring) task to actually gather everything again with each new character I come up with.
I would preffer if it was option cause some players do not agree with such thing.

@MrGarlic and I have played gw2 before and this system was great for me
I have no problemw ith even titles accountshared when enabled for it
in gw2 people dont have problems like in ESO with simple things like this
what the hell wrong is with ESO community as hardcore RP's are crying that loudly and that much for even minimum changes to QoL improvements for players who want just play this game instead of RP?
I never have seen any onther mmo where RP's are that loudly toxic to every other non-RP because as someone want to play different this same game is breaking those RP immerswion even if doesnt affect in any way playstyle of those RP
Voted no because it isn't really the achievements you want to be account wide. It is what those achievements give you. You don't want to have to find skyshards again. You don't want to take the time to unlock undaunted skills. You don't want to take the time to gain all the passives. You want a character to be a master crafter as soon as you create it.
I wouldn't mind seeing a menu where you could see all the achievements you've completed across your entire account but your characters should earn their achievements and titles.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."
Personally I am for them, however I do think there needs to be some splits so not all achievements are account wide.
They would also need to untie some titles and skill lines from achievements.
@Turelus - EU PC Megaserver "Don't count on others for help. In the end each of us is in this alone. The survivors are those who know how to look out for themselves."
I say make a overall achievement score and a individual achievement score for each character. I do one achievement on one character and no other character has done it before than it counts to the overall score but if it has been done before than it only counts for the achievement score for that character.
Why not, I dont really care about achievements.
However, it may open the door to guild lines and skyshards: that is what I want account wide, that is what is annoying on an alt.
