does the game still have those questlines that abrubtly ends in a zone and doesnt tell you where to go next. to the next part of the same zone or to another zone. my best or worst example depending on your point of view is finishing the dunmer zone where you have to defeat what i think is called the brothers of strife, some type of fire elementals.
you turn in a quest to a nord commander and whoops the questline just ends

Sometimes you just have to go and find things instead of dotting on the game to handhold your through every single step.

its not broken, its Designed that way. I'd love to see you play the Original morrowind.

Also if icons on your map dont turn white when getting close it means there is a quest close you need to do to "explore" the icon

There's a zone guide coming out with the Q1 update that will have that as one of its features.

But usually if the quest ender isn't the next quest giver, they usually either show up immediately or upon leaving the general area.

The one you're referring to, I think, you see the next quest giver when you head into the direction of Deshaan or something on the road.

    Good.

However, if you are wondering where to go next in a quest then bringing up the map from the quest entry in the journal will generally show you where to go, unless it's intended that you should discover that information for yourself.

You can easily navigate on each zone and their "broken questlines" by using your quest log, your map and your compass. If you open your quest log (J) then select the quest you want and press m on your keyboard, the map of the specific location of the quests next objective will open. There is also the compass where you can view the direction of the marker and of course you can place custom markers on your map by pressing f on your keyboard while the map is open. Enjoy.

Personally I would prefer a bit less hand holding and more exploring. Entire zones are just build going on a particular route through the zones with all quests neatly lined up. But to be fair they are doing better in that regard in the DLCs and chapters.

@Teutoburger How about responding in your own thread instead of sending sarcastic private messages to people that try to help you solve your in game issues?

So here is a better explenation. IF the quest you just completed is part of a chain of quests and not an individual side quest, after completing it the following things will occur.
1.The person you delivered the final step of the quest will give you the next part of the quest.
    2. The person you delivered the final step of the quest will give you a mini guide quest where you will have to go to a specific location where the next step of the questline is.
    3. Near the location where the quest ended there will be a new quest giver. Check your compass, take that quest and follow the story.
There is no broken link between quest lines. And even if you encounter a special situation there are always hints or quest hubs on your map where you can look for markers. Again, enjoy and don't pm me.
