What's PvP Love to you?

Note: This is primarily my Opinion based on being a Solo PvP player current rank Warlord & 73k PvP kills. Also TL;DR at bottom

So the recent Twitch live or reveal talked about PvP love which was the introduction to a Fortnite style activity that Sheogorath on a whim all of a sudden decided to do and the removal of IC from Cyrodill while making it it's own instance.

It's very early to make statements but to me these two things are not the PvP love I looked for especially with IC seemingly only having it removed from Cyrodill without removing some of the training wheels that were frequently introduced to IC so it'll appeal the PvE players... you know the ones who left after they got what they needed.

The new activity I can't really say other than I feel the servers can't handle that & I feel the words used i.e "Emperor counter" was pretty irritating. It's pretty clear that PvP has suffered from performance issues for almost 5 years (didn't start when the game started but did shortly after so technically it's 4 years & a few months) so introducing a activity that again reinforces the number strategy which will focus it at one point just seems like a bad idea from start. I also hate that it's supposed to be an Emperor counter when getting Emperor is pretty difficult sometimes and is for those who are dedicated; So now you say you want to introduce a weapon that will walk all over that dedication... yup not good.

As a PvP player who has frequently went on hiatus due to issues with the game, here are the things I'd want.
  • Bolded is what I'd want followed by a statement

Improve PvP performance - After four years we in the PvP community have heard the words of "No silver bullet yet", "We're working on it", "No ETA on performance yet", "We're testing somethings", etc in regards to PvP performance. Many players whom I battled against as a DC who were well known in their respective alliances have all moved on and I wish I was exaggerating about that. They got their Five stars, then little by little they left and so did those hardcore map pushes which had you on edge trying to defend to crown emp or save emp.

Remove district respawns from IC entirely and return high risk high reward gameplay - IC was fun at the start as it was crowded but it all played around this theme which was the higher the risk the higher the reward but the chances of you dying were real. You introduced flags (which I definitely was against from the start) as a way to draw players back but that was futile because you kept this instant respawn in districts which took risks out of the equation. The best part is, thanks to instant respawns you would still get less AP from killing them again but they'd have full resources ready to get you.
You made the safe top-side the Tel-var gaining machine while the middle used to be the place to gain the most Tel-var which helped spur on battles in the middle yet, your flag introduction countered that along with the frequent nerfs to risk added, so I can hardly call this a PvP DLC.

Bring new sieges and a siege bag Someone correct me on this but @ZOS_BrianWheeler showed an image or commented on a data mined image that had new sieges which I believe were dwemer themed. Where did they go... I could've sworn I heard they were coming soon but then they disappeared into the dust never to be heard from again. The siege bag has been something highly requested at-least in guild chats/zone chats due to sieges not stacking.

Bring dynamic into keep battles - Nothing is more boring then repeating the same process over and over again, I also believe wheeler commented on things to scale keep walls when under attack. I'd also like a new activity that promotes solo play to be added into cyrodiil as it still currently favors large numbers of players; If you wanna give love to groups then also put in a clan war system where you could do a battleground style fight but for 30 v 30, 50 v 50, & 100 v 100.
Jumping into keeps was a fun thing and I'd love for that to make a comeback. My fondest memory was when I was Emperor pushing for AD scrolls, AD was desperately defending & there are always people spamming lethal arrow on top of the inner keep. I made my way around and flew in there and at that moment all hell broke loose. Zone chat was screaming & laughing because someone mentioned I was in the keep, AD was jumping out of the keep, messages were flying in my inbox, and my trade guild chat was mixed with rage and laughter... those days were very funt o me.

TL;DR - Read the words in bold and the latest live stream wasn't what I in my opinion would call PvP love. I do not like a new activity type in PvP that encourages zerging and is a counter to Emperor which takes dedication to achieve. I also do not like IC simply being removed from Cyrodill without any other changes (based on what was stated, that could change).

An better idea than the artifact weapon might be dragons.
An trial level boss start roaming the sky, scaled so it can be killed by an large zerg unless pretty bad.
However easy to hide from so solo or small groups are safe.
if it hit an keep under siege, it would benefit the defenders. as they can hide in structures.
Now an small group or even an single player could pull an dragon and drop it on some group, or just move it around to position it. It also drops good loot.
Trying to move an dragon is pretty hard and serious dangerous.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    Favorite Foods and Potions

    • Parse Food for PvE:(DPS) Ghastly Eye Bowl (increases Max Magicka by 4592 and Magicka Recovery by 459 for 2 hours).
    • Gold/Purple Food for Sorc PvP and Meme Tanking:(PvP) Clockwork Citrus Filet (increases Max Health by 3326, Health Recovery by 406 [useful if stage 1 vampire], Max Magicka by 3080, and Magicka Recovery by 338 for 2 hours). Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

I think the separation of IC likely has less to do with making IC great again and more to do with Cyrodiil having less checks in an effort to improve the performance up top.

But one can only hope it will revive IC some. IC is my favorite PvP love.

My quick "love" list for open world PvP:
    1. Improve performance (optimize and engineer)
    2. Replace factions with colors (like BGs) and players are locked to that color for the campaign duration (They can play ANY character they have, just only on that color)
    3. More skill rewards in later ranks to encourage more ESO players to PvP
    4. Improve population balance incentives and mechanics
    5. New maps please
Honestly, I don't mind zergs. Armies have numbers, and to say an open world war shouldn't involve large armies fighting one another seems somehow wrong. Cydodiil was built for massive fights and they can be awesome.

I suspect many of us get the sense that PvP doesn't have a full-time dedicated crew of designers and developers. If it does, what on earth are they doing every day?

The changes over the years to PvP don't seem to reflect that sort of level of attention. I feel PvP in Cyrodill has been long-term neglected, and the population (outside of special events) reflects that. So any "Love" for PvP Cyro IMHO would begin by dedicating a team to actually work on it full time.
