Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

Cloak isn’t a viable defense for anything but Stamblades snipers who will never get near the fights. There’s too many AoEs to make use of cloak if you’re using Soul Harvest or Concealed weapon, or the Siphoning ult, or Dawnbreaker, or the Fear

You don't use it on yourself, it can't even target you. It's for a healer build on teammates.

It's not ideal to use in the same manner a Templar would heal teammates (block and cast).

I like that it costs health because I can use my magicka for HoTs, Cloak, Shade, Fear, etc.

Several very good points in this thread.

With the pvp event, I played more pvp with my chars... I had time to play only on my main, breton magicka nb, and breton magicka sorc alt.

To play the sorc in pvp is waaay more easy and rewarding, even though, the nb is my main, which I enjoy playing the most overall.

But I noticed that right now, you really need to have lots of armor and resist, otherwise you will die from two shots of snipe/poison injection. I am not a pro player, but did enough pvp to reach rank 17 (lieutenant) on my main and 13 on my alt.

So by comparison, with my sorc, I used a combo of armor master and bomb sets which brought me enough survivability and enough kills to rank 1st or 2nd in my team most of the time.

With the magblade, I tried several combinations, and none really works like with the sorc. The magblade does not have enough burst and its defenses don't last enough to be effective. In PVE magblades are strong, that is true, and I feel that, but in pvp it is better to switch to stamina, which gives you more options. Before Murkmire it was easier. I don't get it why they added the travel time to the bow proc. With mNB most of the skills are so situational that you are down to the very basic features of the magblade...

If Strife wasn't nerfed you could likely build around the other issues the class has. Healing ward not healing is an issue. Lack of Snare Removal, anyone with half a brain cell can avoid Merciless, removal of damage from path making it unfavorable AFTER nerfing the healing done which makes it very hard to keep your shadow barrier passive up, can't very effectively use fear and even then it only stuns 2 people while stream stuns 6 AND DOES DAMAGE, and finally Siphoning attacks change from Morrowind when they destroyed the skill rather than adjusting the values.

The removal of the initial heal of healing ward, removal of minor vitality and the delaying of Assassin's will damage
All these 3 things made Magicka Nightblade unreliable and just straight up weak

The problem with Magicka Nightblade is that it has every single defense in the game, it has heals, shields and cloak yet none of these mechanics are strong enough to keep it alive.

Heals, HoTs arent strong enough and the Magblade cannot recover from low HP especially when he has Major Defile applied on himself. Its lacking a burst heal.
Shields are strong to prevent burst but theres too much oblivion damage and dots in the game and the shield itself is tiny anyway(Im talking about Harness Magicka and Healing Ward), nothing compared to the shields of a Magsorc for example. You just cant spam them like on a Magsorc.
Cloak is a nice escape tool but it isnt half as good as on a Stamblade because the Magicka Blade doesnt have enough mobility to abuse anywhere near as good as a Stamblade can, no snare removal, no major expedition, no dodge roll. Its too easily countered.

Talking about the offense of a Magblade, theyre too reliant on Assassin's Will which was made delayed and is now way too easy to avoid, their Burst is way too backloaded due to Assassin's Will being their only hard hitting skill.

And I still dont know what you're talking about cause magblades are still strong as ***.

If you think that then you just dont understand the game and have never played a Magblade

I duel amazing magblades all the time and they do fine 🤷‍♂️ I'm sorry you're mad you have a bow that can hit for 10k+ and you can time it with a fear conbined with soul harvest, tether or ice comet

The combat balance team killed it. Maybe they were trying to to tone down stamblade, which they did, but magblade and saptanks suffered more.

The murkmire nerfs were an unexpected kick in the gut. Let's take more enjoyment from the class bois!

Also we have no un-reflectable ranged abilities so, in some cases, we must fight in melee range. At that point we usually get perma rooted or snared by dks and wardens. We have no snare removal.. that was nerfed years ago when purged was removed from cloak. If we're foolish enough to engage in melee range or let cloak drop, we will die from the aforementioned combo (shalk DB spin2win combo).

    Just don't drink and magblade.

I can say only from Nightblade tank and healer perspective, so for tank Siphoning Strikes nerf smaked saptanks hardly, then nerf of Blur Major Evasion finished Tava tanking, and then Refreshing Path get nerfbat.
As Nightblade healer first my Funnel Health reduced to one ally, then I get same Siphoning Strikes nerf and last nail was removal of damage from Refreshing Path.

It needs better healing. Why does it have the siphoning line and still have one of the, if not the worst healing in the game? Strife and heal ward nerfs hurt. The harness changes were a nerf for some builds too.
Slightly less potato friendly offense is needed. Slowing down will when it is the main part of NB offense and not exactly spammable is stupid.
Wings. (And shimmering, but its less painful to break) hard counter it. No, allowing some skills to bypass wings is not the correct idea, changing wings to be less hard counter and better all around is.

However MagNB does have some of the best skills in the entire game, so it'd be really easy to overbuff it.

...what? How is it a different issue? Healing Ward was the go-to burst heal for most magblades, because they don't have one in-class. Combined with the shield it provided an opportunity to disengage heal out of execute range. Without that, magblades are seriously lacking in burst heal options. That seems like a pretty directly related issue to me.

They have other viable options. Magblades are far from dead. Far far far from it.
