Are Werewolf skills considered "weapon abilities"?

I'm trying to wrap my ahead around the implications the race rebalance has for my Orc WW.

The changes are:
Orc
Increases Experience gain in Heavy Armor Skill Line by 15%, extra 10% Inspiration gain → No changes
Brawny: 6% Max Health and Stamina → Increases your Max Health and Stamina by 500.
Unflinching: Healing Received by 5% and 20% Health Recovery → Increases your Healing Received by 4%. When you deal damage with a weapon ability you restore 380 Health and Stamina. This effect can occur once every 4 seconds.
Swift Warrior: 4% Melee attack, 12% Sprint cost reduction and 10% Sprint Speed → Increases your Weapon Damage by 258. Reduces the cost of your Sprint ability by 12% and increases your Movement Speed while Sprinting by 10%.

So... will WWs be able to take advantage of the new Unflinching passive?

Depends how you look at it. But it's a case that could be mad.

Isn't a weapon ability only applicable to skills you would choose from the actual weapon lines? AKA rending slashes, flurry etc.

Yeah this is what I'm thinking... which means this is a straight up nerf for WWs. Bosmer and Redguard look pretty tempting right now.

Put on red mountain set (or way of fire). If ZoS stays consistent (no guarantee) then if light attacks proc that set they should proc this passive.

Also Breton could really help with WW healing. Really like the new race passives, so many possibilities.

As of right now they seem to function as weapon abilities for proccing gear sets such as Shadow of the Red Mountain. I did some testing as I was curious about that too and the volcanos do appear to spawn sometimes after using either Claws of Life or Howl of Agony. Unless there are some internal changes werewolves should be able to make use of the orc racial passive.

WW abilities are not considered weapon abilities.

Redguard werewolves also face the same massive handicap: "Exhilaration: 9% Stamina Recovery → Martial Training: Reduces the cost of your Weapon abilities by 8%."

As written in the announcement, staff skills should count for these passives as resto and destro staffs are in the Weapon section of your skills but werewolf skills will not benefit as they are in World. But there might be some internal coding which means werewolf skills count as weapon skills for various effects, e.g. if claws or howl procs Red Mountain (but even if they do proc the set there's no guarantee they also count as weapon skills for other calculations).

I really hope the skill descriptions of the Redguard and Orc passives (and the High Elf class ability passive) are changed to explicitly include werewolf skills. There is something similar in the description of Physical Weapons Expert in Champion Points, which clearly says increase damage of light attacks of 2H, 1H&Sh, DW, bow and when in werewolf form. If it remains as currently described, the two purest melee fighting races are unable to effectively play the purest melee role.

So it looks like the top picks for WWs next patch will be Bosmer, closely followed by Imperial and Dunmer. What a time to be alive.

I don't see why they wouldn't. I'm not sure if Orc would be a good mag race but Redguard w/ cost reduction on weapon abilities and stam sustain seems pretty interesting for mag specs in PvP.

So from what i know about were's the light and heavy attacks dmg you do is based of whatever weapon you have equipped.
and they should proc as if you are using your weapon. this is because of how it coded on the back end side of things.
And the WW skills do proc as weapon skills.

So you lot should breath a lil easier.

And WW has never generated ulti while in wolf form (since the WW change, i duno about before that i didn't play wolf then.) This is because you should use the devour skill to stay in WW and it should not be that you can stay in WW forever. And yes there was drama over that back then but in the end it was a balance thing.
