hey guys just had a though regarding crit resist. some players in another thread were discussing different options for gear traits, and with all this talk about a future possibility of CP removal. I had a though about it.

maybe we could just flat out remove crit resist from traits in gear and CP. and give a flat 2500- 3000 crit resist to battlespirit. as it stands we all just wear impen if your serious about pvp. with a few variation in gear traits ofc, some players running 4 well-fitted and such.

I think it would be a bit weird to balance. everyone have great crit resist and say 7 well- fitted for dodge rolls...I don't know it would be nice to bring back a bit more variation in pvp though. let us accually use the traits in game. maybe a buffed invigorating on 4 and reinforced on big pieces? or well fitted x7 on a mag toon for more stamina sustain?

    When sharpened weapons we're the only option they just nerfed the trait. With changes to shields, impen is even more attractive and you may have just given zos a target for their nerf hammer.

    I get you. But can't see this as their direction. They literally just forced a class i to Impen. Sorcs.

    We had the diversity to run divines / infused, well fitted etc. They stripped that.

    (sure other ward classes had that impact too)

    Lastly If everyone gets grit resist then what's the point in it? It actually lessens diversity in some aspects. I.e. Pre ward change i ran zero, full yolo glass cannon, dead if wards down. Now i have some, its bland. I survive a ton more at expense of other attributes.

    This would require adjustments in bonus crit damage dealt.

    Also CPs are not going anywhere, they will be adjusted or reworked, Rich never said that they are planing to remove them.

    And when it goes to traits diversity. Look how this worked in PvE. Certain roles use certain traits, no trait diversity. This would just change the meta from impenetrable to well fited/divine.

    — They always claim they’re “investigating” the causes, but in reality they’re just waiting until the PC EU players go to bed. Once that happens, you can suddenly log in again and they happily mark the issue as Fixed.

    that's kinda been an issue though. that a class coul build for straight glass and still do very well while others, myself being a magplar main sympathizes with, have to wear things like full impen.

    hell my current trial for gear is light impreg with two damage ses, just trying to push the limits of my class. I do ok...we'll leave it at that.

    I think the change to sorc shields was in the right direction, but I don't like the health cap. I feel like a direct nerf to shield strength may have been better. ANYWAY, kinda off topic.

    I just think it would be nice to be able to slot something other than impen as a trait. ultimately a very minor thing, but still, I had an idea figured I'd get the communities input.

    another off topic XD. you guys remember when sorcs would commonly wear only infused/ divines? oooooo the jelousy I used to carry of their POWER! took zos WAY too long to balance that

    We do need to have conversations about CP now that the cap is locked. But i think the reps are the ones that need to start these conversations because there's more to it than just crit resists.

    Only feels useful when playing against builds that buff single attacks to one shot you from half health. Everything else and crit just equates to taking more damage, which you build around in the usual way.

    So basically bow users and maybe a few other less prevalent builds.

    CR feels worthless, even if it does "work" in keeping you alive longer against these builds.

    You'd want/need an increase in desirable traits

    Training
    Reinforced
    Invigorating
    Nirn

    Sturdy -Niche

    Well-fitted
    Divines

    Impen would become way less valuable

    So we'd still really only have 1/2 choices to us. So the diversity would hardly increase with the reduction of crit damage in PvP alone

    The only way you will get trait diversity is by buffing all traits then introducing soft caps on those trait that can be reached with 4 to 5 pieces. Outside of that there will always be a BiS trait. And I see no problem with impen being the go to pvp trait. It has no purpose outside of pvp so it should be BiS in most cases in pvp.
