Is it time for not combat focused playable contents? (nope, nothing)

Trait change, Jewel crafting, Battleground... Things that combat focused players wanted are mostly here now, and with at least 4 dungeons, 1 trial (in the chapter)and at least 18 new sets a year, I don't think combat can have something way exciting unless ZOS plans to drastically change the combat system.

And of course there will be one large zone one small zone for pve/story, but what about the “cherry on top” special contents for the story dlc and chapter?

Is it time for non/light combat contents?

Mini games, Mount Racing, more interactable world (revisit old maps) for more RP possibilities?

EDIT: I put some of my ideas on the 5th reply of this post...go check!

I hope Elsewhyr will be great but it's sad we got nothing other than necromancer :(

It would be really cool if they could think outside the box and introduce story and gameplay elements not centered on combat. We could argue that player housing does that but we all also know that housing is terribly incomplete and fraught with problems they seem as helpless to fix as the lag in Cyrodiil.

What kind of mini games would you like to see? Do you have examples?

An arena to gamble all my gold away! At least I can have fun and be broke...and its only gold!

    You already get:

    - 1 full quest zone
    - 1 mini quest zone

That's at least 40 hours of story content.

    This is compared to:

    - 2-4 dungeons
    - 1-2 trials or arenas

Sounds like a good idea depending on how complex and interesting the new activities were. If they were overly simplistic - like say the New Life Festival quests - which has racing, mini games, interacting with the world etc... then it would become tedious quickly (like those quests have become).

But if the system had sufficient depth (like say Chocobo Racing did on Final Fantasy 7) I could see it being a worthy addition to the game. But I would be reluctant to support any kind of a casino-like mini game considering how awful this game's RNG is. That 90% chance to succeed when pick pocketing for example often feels like 50%.

    Horse racing for starters.

Trap Race. Murkmire really gave a good start of this, optimizing different interactable objects in the world to reach your destination. A race on foot with numerous traps and puzzles sounds a lot fun and ZOS only need to expand upon murkmire.

Group treasure hunt. 2 or more teams get several hints of the whereabouts of the puzzle pieces and needs to dig them across all available zones, and with enough pieces of map to guess where it is, the first team dig up the treasure wins. and there should be pvp and non-pvp version where you may or may not fighting opponent team in the overworld.

Pet battle...well stealing ideas from other mmorpg is not that bad as long as ZOS make it fun :v

Coop assasin/stealth missions. I really miss dark brotherhood and thief guild. Coop grand mission with a leader board sounds fun

I will try to think more...

Ah and, @ZOS_GinaBruno just some food for thought :p hope you read it and if you find it interesting share and discuss with dev members. (bit late but Merry Christmas!)

Doesn't have to be coop for me but some more interesting dailes for those two guilds would be nice. And I'd like a monster or weapon set that let's you sneak at normal speed. Night Silence is too restrictive and I don’t want to have to turn all my chars into vampires.

I personally hate mini-games in MMORPGs, anything like horse-racing and jumping platforms etc I find a complete turn-off. However, if others like them in sufficient number for it to be viable developing them, then why not?

I like the ideas trap/puzzle race, treasure hunt and cop stealth missions . Perhaps the stealth ones would be to assassinate certain npc's in the least amount of time with similar conditions as the dark brotherhood missions have for maximum scores.Maybe a solo option for those that can't find a group? How about a race first to find wandering npc's..? (Just trying to think of something else that could be done and at the moment, that's all i can come up with). Edited to add, the wandering NPC could also be to find a certain number of random spawning Nodes in all of the zones in the base game within... say a week instead. Though that would be difficult for those with limited time to play.

It would add an extra dimension for when someone needs a break from questing/dungeons etc, and gives those who have difficulty reaching large dps to have some sort of leader board to try to rank in.

Only after reading your #6 post do I glimpse the potential of your idea.
I think it adds more options to what a player can get up to while in ESO, and that's always a good thing.
A great idea, made even more tempting by suggestions from other posters above.

I think this is a great idea, and am surprised we haven't seen some of this already. My only fear is that it will end up devolving to fetch quests from different towns and other tedious, repetitive tasks like the various event quests.

I do hope they think this over long-term and don't just rush to cram in as many games as they can without thinking it through, but small events like horse racing should be relatively easy to implement.

Oh yeah, I’d like a carnival town! Be nice if a single spot had tons of mini games to play. Ways to gamble gold, odd things to do, and maybe some fun prizes. A place that always feels like a holiday event.

I don't know how many remember, but I enjoyed the diplomacy system in vanguard. It was different. There are so many fun things they could add beside kill, kill, kill all of the time.

I just noticed the other day browsing through add on that someone attempted to put chess into the game. Why can't developers put in cards, and other mini games in the taverns and such to enjoy. It would help bring the community together. I love those mini games in red dead redemption such as cards and horse shoes.

Players are mostly interested in new story lines and new instanced combat. The few suggestions OP made are great ideas but without a reason to do them they cannot be even close to the focus of any added content. Without a reason players will move on from them quickly.

I always thought that the Imperial City patch would have included an Arena like good old oblivion... but PvE and PvP.

Even I imagined a story when you were captured by the imperial legion and then you had to fight in the arena and try to escape from IC. Something in between "Gladiator" and "Mad Max 3"

Sarcasm is something too serious to be taken lightly

I was born with the wrong sign

    I took the wrong road
That led to the wrong tendencies
I was in the wrong place at the wrong time
For the wrong reason and the wrong rhyme
On the wrong day of the wrong week
Used the wrong method with the wrong technique

I wouldn't mind a sequel to TG (as in another full DLC). I hate stealth gameplay, but the characters in that storyline were super well written (the entire storyline was).

Another thing that would be cool is some sort of jumping puzzles (even though jumping's animation in ESO is pretty bad) with maybe some deadly traps put within and a chance at some sort of reward at the end. I love doing these just for the exploration and having to figure out how to make it through. Here's one in GW2

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDOTBOrC-hQ

There was also one in GW2 that was almost in total darkness. It was very tough. I was on my ranger and would throw my torch ahead to light my way. That was exciting.

    Vet HM Trials.

PvP was the intended endgame at launch but it's been abandoned for that purpose, and is now just alternate gameplay.

Trials are the intended endgame now.

I´d like to see a crafting and RP expansion, not tied to the crown store or combat achievements. Being able to give my character some personality without spending crowns would be really nice. Say, being able to set traps for animals, grow crops... more emoticons... maybe more random encounters where you get to make moral choices.

I really have to infuse most of the personality into my characters myself... ok I get it, it is an MMO and you can´t expect great lines. But I am getting kind of tired of my character walzing around going "yes, my Queen" and the like.
