This thread wasn't created to complain about the changes to the CP system or racial passives/skills. The focus on this thread is the direction that I feel ESO is taking, and the experiences I've had with it in other MMOs.
1. The stop/revamp/removal of CP system.
The reason I enjoy the CP system is because I have several different ways to build my character. I don't always follow meta, so to me, there are many options to pick between. I don't care about the numbers, I care about the choices I have. Even if you feel that the choices are limited, there ARE choices.
2. The changes to racial skills.
The reason I enjoy the racial passives that we have at the moment, is that the race I chose for my character is different from the other races. It's a choice for me to take, and options for me to pick between.
With the changes to CP and racial skills, I'm getting the very same feeling I got when WoW started to homogenize. If they remove the CP system, we're losing out on choices to customize our character. If they chose to remove/change the race skills to make the races more equal, then we're also losing out on choices to customize our characters. I'm not talking about customization in the way of cosmetics (costumes, hair colour, etc). I'm talking about the customization of stats and attributes. It's important to have BOTH of these, and if we make it so that every race is the same with the exception of their appearance, then we're throwing away the other option to customize our characters. This might not happen at all, and I might be wrong, but I have the same feeling right now, as I had when WoW started to cut away at the uniqueness of races, classes and talent trees.
TLDR: I'm worried that with the change/removal to the CP system and racial skills, we're going to lose out on customization choices when it comes to gameplay.
