My Account cannot Trade or Send Mails?!?!

It started 2 days ago, i cannot send mails i can only receive. If i try to send i get message : Sending mail is currently disabled. If i try to trade i get: Trading is currently disabled [snip] ?!

Social bans can also happen erroneously. Sometimes the server stalls on registering inputs and then it all goes through at once, which flags it as spam and results in the ban.
The solution for other people who experienced this is to contact Support and they reverted it.3 -

unlikely. that usualy causes harassment reports which give a temporary or perma ban, depending on your choise of words and amount of reported instances.
if a lot of ppl would report u for spamming, that could trigger a social ban.1 -

I`m just surprised, i trashtalk for 3 years, and this is a first. It was nothing too special in bgs, just the regular "Scrub team uninstall game or stick to normal dungeons" thingy ^^0 -

I know on xbox you basically need to set your console to wide open, please probe me to be able to send mail or trade. But you can receive mail when you have custom security settings. Maybe your platform is similar. Just a thought.
Besides the above, I'm pretty sure sending and receiving mail uses different ports. I had to reconfigure my new router when I got it. I had to Google which ports needed to be open. I don't remember which ports I had to change.
Or maybe the others are correct and you're a pariah.

No ban should EVER come from this! People can say what ever they want even if its mental bull s**t because you have a magical ignore button.
The social ban will be 24 hours because of certain triggers than make it happen automatically because ZOS is (engage sarcasm mode) really good at their job. *cough nope cough*.

✭I have had a similar situation over the last few months. All of a sudden I can't access any guild traders, even guilds that I am a member of. The first-time it happened I submitted a ticket and within an hour I got a reply apologizing and stating that my buy/sell privileges had been restored. The tech also stated that if it happened again in the future to submit another ticket and that they would correct the error right away. I asked if there was anything that I could do/not do to avoid this and was told that they could not tell me that information. It has happened again a few times and each time has been corrected before I submitted a new ticket.
My takeaway from this was that they had initiated some new antibot/cheat protocols that were returning some false positives. Perhaps they now have a list of such occurrences and place some of the vetted players on it a la the trusted flyer list at airport security. At any rate it is good to know that they are indeed on the lookout for miscreants.0 -

I am a GM and I used Shissu to send mail to only 30 members and I got banned for it. I have played the game from the beginning and have be banned twice before but it was very different then. The first time I had sent around 500 mails to members and sent in a ticket and it was resolved within two days. The second time I was banned, I had mailed to all members of the guild and it resolved itself by morning without even sending in a ticket.
This time it was only to 30 members and does not seem like it would warrant being banned, but that is not as important as the fact that it has been almost two weeks and my account is still NOT fixed. Am I missing some rules about mailing? I am not aware that I did anything wrong. I got one response that said "Don't hit any keys repeatedly" and I was told that my issue was being turned over to the development team and if they did not hear from me within so many hours that they would consider it resolved. So, I have been adding a note to that ticket almost everyday so that it will not be considered resolved.
I have pretty much missed out on the Witches Festival because I cannot play the game with my inventory, storage and bank full after deconstructing as much as I could. I am holding prizes for members that I cannot mail or trade with them. It is a bad situation not just for me but it is affecting members of the guild as well. I need some HELP, please.0 -

And if they were reversed because they were mistakes, why treat the third social ban as though the first two had been properly imposed?I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!1 -

✭Had an odd bug last night in a dungeon run. We wouldn't get the Trade Prompt on the screen when opening a trade with each other. Not just from 1 player, all 4 players were experiencing this with each other. In the menu under notifications, it was there to be accepted, but not on the screen. Was quite strange.PS4-NA. ✭I was doing a lot of trading last night (to clear up the last few event items needed) - and my UI would freeze when trying to whisper; send / receive mail; and enter trade.
Perhaps this is based on the FREQUENCY of entering into chat / mail... read as spam - and not a bug with the actual system?

Possibly because social bans are based on behavior observed. So, while it was agreed that the behavior could have been innocuous on the previous rounds, by the third time the behavior was now viewed as intentional?
I mean, I'm guessing. We don't know what causes social bans, exactly. (For, somewhat obvious reasons.)0 -

The same thing happened to me as well and I'm also a Guild Leader. I don't even message all the time, it was my first time in weeks. I wouldn't have to use an add-on to send guild mail if there were better tools for Guild Leaders. The worst part of this is the lack of communication. No warning, no explanation, no response in tech support. I also add a message to my ticket since it says they'll assume it was resolved if they don't hear from me after 4 days. They want to hear from us before 4 days but they can just ignore us indefinitely. I have a paid account as well. They seem to have no regard for keeping this game alive. I was patient in the beginning and even defended ESO tech support lol but now I understand all the badmouthing.
edit: I was eventually helped. I had used an add-on, GodSend, since I'm guild leader and needed to message my guild. I didn't use it often. It had been over a week since the last time. The tech support person that helped me suggested I adjust the time between messages going out. I had used this a few times before with no problem. It had been suggested by a fellow player, that with server lag, the messages piled up and sent all at once triggering a social ban automatically. I'm very grateful for being helped, just not sure why it took a week and having to communicate outside of the tech support ticket. Also not sure why I wasn't given any communication, such as an auto-email, to let me know that a social ban even occurred and why.Edited by Valerie_Sinclair on November 14, 2019 4:33AM0
