Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• ESO Store and Account System for maintenance – April 8, 9:00AM EDT (13:00 UTC) - 6:00PM EDT (22:00 UTC)
We are currently investigating connection issues some players are having on the European megaservers. We will update as new information becomes available.

Please make it optional to look like the living dead with the Vampire skill line

I want my character to be a vampire for the mag regen passive, but I DO NOT want my character to look like something that belongs on some horror film. Please ZoS make it optional to have your character look like that in this next update.

I'm of the opinion that it could be a lot worse.

    I much prefer ESO's vampires.

Can't say I get it. Outside a few powerful NPCs who can temporarily disguise themselves, becoming a vampire as your player character in TES games means appearance changes with each stage of vampirism.

    I mean, I get it. #fashionscrolls.

But I don't get it. The appearance changes should be expected, are lore appropriate, and present in the other TES games.

It is optional - stay at stage 1 where you look mostly normal. Each of us have to deal with the consequences of our decisions in the game. If you decide you "have to" have vampirism to min-max your magicka regen, you need to accept the consequences that go along with that. I have a character where I "have to" use a particular set because I refuse to make her a vampire and want normal sneak speed. Decisions come with consequences.

You also have the option to hide it with a polymorph. Stave off your vampiric infection with ice or fully embrace it as a skelly.

You can't have the power of the Dark side without sacrificing good looks. Life doesn't work like that. If you want great power, you gotta embrace turning ugly.

Edit: Even if you were ugly before embracing the Dark side, you downgrade to Grotesque so wear a mask.

Vampires in ESO look better than in any other TES game so I'd say we got off easy.

    We could look like this

Still, look at Serana and Harkon. Why can't we look more normal, like them? I mean, if it was so obvious I was a vampire, I couldn't even walk around the city. The moment they see my awfully white skin, they'd put me to fire.

    Serana and Harkon?

Er, personally, I'd rather avoid the rather "degrading" ritual Serana went through to become a Daughter of Coldharbor. And Harkon pretty much made a personal deal with Molag Bal himself to sacrifice a bunch of people to get his vampire lord form. I'm kinda on the outs with Molag Bal seeing as how I ruined his grand master plan to take over Tamriel. And we're not even that type of vampire, being instead descended from the bloodline of Lamae Bal and sharing in her powers, not theirs...

In short, we're not that kind of vampire.

Now, if ZOS ever decides to add something like that to the game as a vampire DLC, its doable. Until then, not really.
