What do you hope happens with the racial changes?

I assume we may start hearing about this tomorrow or at least in the nearby future. What would you like to see happen?

Personally, I'd like to see something happen to where Redguard, Dark Elf and Argonians are not the end game. Yes, you can say that is the whole point, but part of me worries they will do something that won't change that.

Edit: Or I would just like them to put all passives in a pool and let us pick whatever race and pick the passives from said pool.

I just hope they don't make all races the same. What would be the point if an Altmer had similar bonuses to a Redguard. Or vice versa.

I'm all for balance and I agree Argonians and Redguards are top tier in their respective areas. But instead of nerfing them, buff the others. Nords especially need some attention. I have a nord tank and argonian tank....and the argonian tank can survive much longer than my nord. So buff the weaker one.

Knowing ZoS, I feel like they are going to nerf them so they all play the same. Basing this off of past nerfs.

I hope they don't have all the races play the same,i mean no way they would do that.In my opinion this would make the game to bland and generic and really put some people off.Most of the races would be high elf and the suppose ugly races will never be made again.

Wait we just nerfed the majority of the races - I hope not.
You have to be careful of what you wish for with this game.

Either BUFF the underperforming Races (unlikely)
Nerf Overperforming Races (likely, but *** solution)

Or let ppl choose Passives free of the Races, and only Keep the Learing Passives on the Race, and maybe buff them a bit....

Just imagine your Cat Sorc, with the Darkelve DMG, High Elve DMG and High Elve Max Magicka Passivee

i'm expecting nerfs though because that seems to be ZOS's go-to for "balance".

I hope they don’t ruin orc speed/melee damage, take away dark elf resistance to fire, give in and ruin argonian potion passive, remove wood elf stealth damage (even though I hate bow ganks). I just really hope they keep the unique stuff that makes it fun to use a race for a certain build. If they want to provide morphs that let you choose the unique passives or something else, or provide morphs for the max stat stuff, fine, just don’t gut the races completely.

It is really ignorant to suggest that an elf should be able to bash as well as a Nord or orc just as it is to believe that brute strength barbarians could cast spells as well as a magically bred Altmer. I just have a bad feeling that ZOS will screw this up.

well Argonian Potion Passive is pretty likely to get nerfed IMO...this Passive is Probably the Strongest Sustain Passive in the whole Game. And it is Overperforming, especially now that we have Ifused Potion CD Jewelry.

I hope aswell that they dont gutt it completly, but I am prepared for the worst

Stealth Passive is a Cancer, but maybe they should remove it from either Khajit or Woodelve, else its not really unique IMO....but we'll see

Many Races are just underperforming in a PVE perspective, they are not undoable but why should someone run a Nord Tank, when Argonian Tanks have it so much easier to Sustain?

Same for DPS....why rund something else than Redguard, everything else isnt really sustainable and REdguard deals only slightly (very slightly) less DPS...

Hope we get racial ultimates like we had in Skyrim. I hope they balance more what we currently have as well. Bretons and wood elves have very weak racials. Meanwhile the argonian potion pot is broken, on top of other 2 strong racials.

I hope that every Race gets 3 passives that are roughly equal in performance, and lore friendly. I am not a lore person, but I understand and support the idea.

The 3 passives should be along the following guideline:
- 1Tank oriented passive. This could be Max Health, Resistance bonus, or a Healing Done/Taken bonus.
- 1 Damage oriented passive. Be it Weapon/Spell Damage, a Max resource bonus, or a stealth damage bonus.
- 1 Sustain passive. Be it recovery or something unique like the current Argonian passive.

That's my 2 cents.

I'm hoping they adjust passives so playing sub optimal race/spec combination doesn't mean that some racials are completely useless /stares are imperials magika toon can still benefit from stamina passives, but they absolutely get nothing out of melee ones.

Keep non game changer unique feature locked to race (reduce enviromental damage, xp bonus to weapon and armor line etc).
Make mag and stam bonus available to all races.

Tone down Argonian potion passive just a hair.
Add a small amount (1-3%) of extra magic damage to Bretons (for selfish breton magplar reasons).
A small buff to Nords (I'd love the health regen nerf to be reverted, but I know I'm in the minority on that one).
Khajiit....changes. They're the worst health-regen option, so honestly pull that and give them something else.

They are not removing racial passives. Stop that fake news AND just for the recrd if they ever did, the game wouldn't be broken. Your character just wouldn't be anymore....

As for HOPE (other than the complete removal of racial passives one day down the road) I hope that they actually give each race variety and stop pigeon holing a race into a certian role. I am not saying that you have to give every race the ability to do every role top end but right now you have too much specializing a couple races for each role. As of right now, every race in ESO has three different racial passives/perks. Most of the time, they all help one certian role/playstyle. I wish that they would make one perk help each a different roles of the game instead; tanking, healing, stam dps, mag dps, pvp. Example: redo Redguards so that they have a perk in Stam DPS, PvP DPS, and Tanking for example... not three perks into stam dps.

However I do not expect ESO to do this, rather I expect them to nerf Redguards and Lizards (maybe Dunmer). They will also buff one or two lesser used races, which will drive the meta humpers to purchase race change tokens for their 15+ characters. The forums will QQ but change all their characters to whatever race their favorite streamer tells them is the new BiS. Sorta like they do with Crown Crates are released. The forums QQ for days but when its over, everyone has their "Super Rare Apex Mount".

Well until they post info from the Class Rep meetings on this or we get patch notes there is nothing we can do or say that will change what ever outcome that happens. So until then we wait and see.

I hope my main altmer will not get nerfed.

Nords definitely need some love.

While I don’t want huge nerfs for any race, I find argonians OP in pvp. Very hard to kill, not talking about tanky builds, and good dps, insane regeneration.

Maybe it’s just me, but when I see one in BG, I don’t even want to deal with it

To be honest I have no idea what to expect from the changes. I hope they don't make ever race basically the same because then it kinda kills the point and lore of ESO . All I hope is if it is a major race skill line change they allow everyone to have a free race change tokens or have then severely discounted on the crown store ( like 100 crowns each for the first week the change takes place)but we all know this is very unlikely.

The problem with that is that is that you have no racials at the start of the game. You can level up an Altmer to level 50 without ever using magic and he will suddenly have magic bonuses.
In Daggerfall to Oblivion racials are starting bonuses, you start off by higher attributes and skills. Now if you go against the racial you would max out the same with an few exceptions. Starting as an female bosmer or khajiit was hard in Oblivion because you was weak and could not carry much so you had to train up strength.

ESO solution is to give you say +10% magic at level 50, yes that is something they used long time coming up with.
And yes its dates back to soft caps, also why it survived beta.
Racial ultimates was removed for balance even if that could be pretty fun if not OP compared to the other ulitmates. Imagine an Argonian tail swipe like the old clanfear attack.

My dream would be that you get to select from a list of passives at character creation. Racial Passives is too limiting options wise.

Take all the passives in the game, Put them in a list, and allow the player to select 3-5.

This will please the casual gamers, the role players, and the end gamers.

As long as my Bosmer mages remain BIS for cute all will be well. I figure anything else they do to Bosmer racials will only help my little wood elf wizards.

On a more serious note, I abhor the current concept of how strongly race affects the magic/stamina decision. Each of our characters is 'The Chosen One' to save the world and the most unique being on the planet - every NPC tells us so. It is not out of the realm of possibility that there could be a magically inclined Orc or a barbarian powerhouse of an Altmer. The only gender differences in ESO are cosmetic; I don't think it is a stretch to provide the same for racial differences.

I know what I don't want: homogenization. Some races have very unique perks, like the Argonian's swim speed. It's ok to have clear differences between races. Heavy handed balance doesn't have to bludgeon it's way through this as well.

What I would like to see, are morph options as you level up. That way, you could have (as loose examples) stam perks on a Breton, or magicka on a wood elf.
