Is eso plus worth it?

I am having trouble deciding wether to sub or not. I would love the craft bag and dlcs and free crowns. But on the other hand there are some really annoying issues that make me think "good thing this is free to play" like the endless load screens and queue bugs. From what I have heard those have been here for a while?

    It is for me.
I play frequently and although there are issues with lag and other bugs, its worth the 50 cents a day.

The crafting bag is great, but if you don't mind spending time sorting your bags, you can live without it.

The crowns aren't really free as the sub costs covers that. I like to think of it as buying crowns with free rental of DLC and craft bag.

I like ESO plus and I think it's worth it but not really a priority of mine. the game is much better with it but if you don't play eso all that much or it's too expensive then not really worth it except once in awhile maybe. I don't usually sub for long periods of time cause I sometimes dont play ESO a ton and money shortages.

You can play this game for free , but there are many restriction and inconvenience .

If you really want to enjoy the game , sub it .

For me, not at all. I was a subber from day one but after leaving the game for a while and returning, I didn't renew and have not missed the sub. I'm max CP so the XP gains are pointless, if anything advancement in the game is too easy anyway, plus I don't buy stuff from the Crown Store, so I have tens of thousands of crowns accrued from previous subs just languishing in my wallet.

The main thing is that this game simply does not have the quality to command a sub. For the most I enjoy ESO, but it's very buggy and the performance is gash, so I wonder what ZOS spend sub income on, as it's not core game improvement or a decent support team. The main game DLC is paid for chapters, and the rest of the content updates are often small things that you are better off buying outright rather than spending on in perpetuity.

Conversely, I do sub to FFXIV, but that's a very well managed game with a responsive support team.

The game is not perfect. There are issues. A few more than just the ones you've mentioned. That said, the positives vastly outweigh the negatives. ESO is a very solid game, and yeah, I think ESO+ is absolutely worth it.

Crafting bag alone is a big plus for anyone really into the game. Double bank space is nice as well but very much secondary to the crafting bag.

Granted, some people can care less about crafting and matts. Others do not play very heavily. All that is ok as well.

Craft bag and storage alone. If you craft its a must. Otherwise play time consists of hours of admin.

I pay for that, all else is a perk including crowns.

I manage without craftbag or ESO+ for the entire 3 months, I have bought all story dlc's and got them either for my monthly crowns (when I still had eso+) or the gold. I have cleared sets I am not using from my storage/banker and I must say I am glad I took the effort, now I do not have to pay anything at all and still got enough slots for everything I need. Besides let us be honest ESO+ is obvious cash grab, I might go back to eso+ maybe for a month per year when I get enough mats and gold to furnish another homes because due to limits it is not possible to furnish most of homes with ESO+ (not to mention without it). I still do believe that it is very punishing for player base that housing got so many limits placed on you just because you are not subbed for ESO+, it is very bad taste and greedy way of making money.

EDIT: weird stuff, after editing 1 spelling mistake my vote: NO, disappeared from my post :open_mouth: So ye I voted NO just in case somebody asks.

If you’re playing the game a lot then yes it is.
If you’re just starting out or not really sure how you feel about the game, get a month subscription and see how you feel afterwards.

Obviously if you’re not into the game then it would be a no

    @Bhaal5

What games are you speaking of that has a mixed business plan where the subscription is optional but does not offer any perks over what the base game without a subscription offers?

I ask because there is not one that is worth playing. I can only think of one, SWTOR, and that game is heavily puniative towards those who do not pay a subscription. Significantly reduced XP, extremely limited access to PvP, cannot were purple gear or better and no means to access large group raids.

ESO is extremely kind to those to choose not to pay a subscription. It is a business, plain and simple.

Depending a lot on how you play. If inventory and bank is always full and you spend a lot of time juggling items its worth it.
No inventory problems and hate dlc dungeons and its not
Grinding just make you go in circles.

    This!!!!
The time I save while I have double bank space and craft bag is more valuable for me than 15 bucks per month.
At the same time it is not required for players who just want to check the game and decide if they like it or not.

    @Bhaal5

It seems GW2 may not be an acceptable answer. I cannot find a subscription model for GW2. I expect you can find that official information and share it with us. If not then what I said is correct.

However, I did find they have different levels of accounts and the free one is very restrictive with everything from inventory (only 3 bag slots per character), no guild bank or enhancement access and much more. Heck, Free accounts are even heavily limited on who they can whisper.

Again, if there is not a subscription model then it is not comparable as I already stated. If there is then there seems to be some heavy restrictions. Much heavier than ESO has. Link to the source of my information below.

Totally worth it. When I'll stop subbing I'll stop playing, simple (except of moments when I protest against stupid changes like cast time shields).

I stopped my subscription when they decided to milk more money from us by not including the new large dlcs in it, changing their name to chapters for basically the same thing (an expansion of the game).

I dont miss the crafting bag or the xp boost at all and i have managed to get the things i needed from some dlcs i dont own when they had free acess

This was well dodgy, and I am surprised ZOS did not get more flak for it. Certainly the Murkmire 'chapter' was garbage and sorely lacking in genuine content. Just a bunch of tedious fetch quests that really would have been far more suited to an included DLC release. Thankfully I got mine free with the login rewards, I'd have been really unhappy if I paid for that crap!

There's a case to be made for paid 'chapter' content vs included DLC - ZOS need money to further develop after all - but if they expect people to pay for chapters with paper thin content like Murkmire, ZOS are in for a rude awakening IMO.

It's not worth it for me.

I buy the DLC I want, and crown packs for other items - which works out cheaper for me than paying £9 a month. I don't have a problem playing without the craft bag and the extra bank space and I have absolutely no use for 10% extra XP when before One Tamriel I always out-levelled whatever I was doing. Double furniture space and costume dying are nice, but not something I need constant access to.

There's also a psychological aspect to it. When I'm paying a subscription I feel like any time I could be playing that game and I'm not I'm wasting money, but then when I am playing I feel like I'm just doing it because I have to since I've already paid for it and either way I don't enjoy it as much as I would if I felt free to stop whenever I like. I know that probably doesn't make any sense to most people, but it's how my mind works.

There are 3 reasons I might choose to buy a sub:
    1) I want one or more of the exclusive items. Hasn't happened so far, but there might be something.
    2) I want to dye some costumes or add extra furnishings to my house and there isn't likely to be a free trial any time soon.
    3) I want to buy crowns and there isn't likely to be a sale any time soon. Since they increased the crown allowance (and following an increase in crown pack prices in the UK a while back) a 6 or 12 month sub is now the cheapest way to buy crowns outside of a sale.

But I don't buy crowns that often any more. I don't buy dungeon DLC and I get chapters through the main site before they're on the crown store so that leaves just story DLC (and the last one of those I got free) once a year. I've got more mounts, pets and costumes than I know what to do with so a new one has to be really exciting for me to get it. Houses are too expensive IMO and I've never bought many of the other things. I do buy furnishings occasionally, but that doesn't cost a lot.

Even if I did buy a 6 or 12 month sub for crowns it would almost certainly run out before I'd spent them all, and then I wouldn't do it again until I wanted more crowns, and then only if there wasn't a sale in between.

Neither yes or no, not sure anymore to be honest. I enjoy the double bank space, craft bag, double housing limits etc, but one of the main reasons I have always subbed was access to the DLC. Since the chapters are now the norm, and 2 of the DLCs are dungeons which I never play it means I am subbing for only 1 DLC a year. I wouldn't want to play without the craft bag etc, but do feel for me the value is diminished.

Increased XP, storage, and assorted freebies make it well worth it indeed and that doesn't even get around to the enhanced amount of crowns that it comes with. The cool part of having a voluntary sun vs a forced sub is that if at any time you can't or don't want to pay you can still play the game just fine. It is worth it to me to sub and I purchased a new 6 month sub in November.
