Sure, just keep collecting tickets and buying feathers. You'll have Indrik later than those who grind every event, yet you'll have it. I got only 3 feathers for now.
The dawnwood berries are only available Jan-Feb-March.
People that are just starting out should decide if they want one of the morphed versions and prioritize using their tickets on the limited-time berries over the feathers.
There are 5 indriks available: the basic brown/grey one you may have seen in game and then four 'evolved' versions: green/blue, black, white and gold.
If you want one of them, especially if it's the basic one then you'll definitely have time to get it. If you want all 5 then you may be able to get them still, depending on how many tickets each event gives and how many days you're able to play during events.
It costs 10 tickets to get a feather or berry and you need 4 feathers for the basic indrik and 4 berries to evolve it (and once you've evolved one the basic version is gone and you need to start over), so it costs 40 tickets for a base indrik, 80 for an evolved one and 360 tickets for all 5 versions.
Importantly the berries are only available during one quarter of the year. So if you want the dawnwood (green/blue) indrik you should prioritise getting the berries, even if you don't have a basic indrik, as you can store the berries while you collect feathers but won't be able to get the berries later on. If you want a different version you can get the basic one first and then get the berries when they come out.
And as a last resort/easier version if you prefer it will be possible to buy tickets from the crown store, but the price is not known yet.

"Remember in this game we call life that no one said it's fair"
History, like a human being, is thirsty when it wakes from its slumber…History wants to drink up an enormous amount of blood. And even if history has tired of drinking blood, that’s only in regards to the amount. But what about quality? The larger the sacrifice is, the more delighted the cruel gods will be.
If you’re just starting out, best to get the berries as they’re limited to each quarter. With the event tickets coming to the crown store, the mass tickets you can get each event and with the feathers now always being available for every event, you can slowly start to pick them up through out the year
When prioritizing, keep in mind that you can have only one nascent indrik at a time, then only after you evolve it, you can start another nascent with a new set of 4 feathers. This increases the importance of prioritizing getting berries ahead of feathers if you are planning on multiple evolutions, so since you're trying to catch up, get berries first, then use the rest of the time during this quarter on getting feathers as you're able to earn tickets. However, this is dependent on whether you are interested in the current evolution. You could even skip this evolution if it doesn't interest you, and just start out with feathers. And yes, during this quarter you will have enough time to get a full set of feathers. Feathers and berries during a single quarter? That'd be dependent on full participation of all events during the quarter, so your decision would not need to be made quite yet, but when you have earned 10 tickets, and ready to buy either feather or berry.
So if you are interested in multiple evolutions, then get berries first, then feathers, and then once again when the next quarter starts, switch back over to berries as priority, because you can always keep the berries in your inventory and wait until the next event or quarter, or even by spending crowns, in order to have enough feathers.
Where do I even get started? Do I have to pick up a quest in Summerset? I did the daily BG quest and got no tickets (and I don't have these berries lol).
