Surprisingly, I have always been a healer main in every MMO I've ever played. This included ESO for the first 4 years. But then I started getting a little burnt out and wanted to try something new, so I made a tank since I had already collected a full set of Alkosh and Ebon.
Now I enjoy the feeling of controlling the battlefield. As a healer I enjoyed being able to top my teammates' health off when they were taking a lot of damage, but now I enjoy protecting them and preventing them from taking damage in the first place.
Also, the sometimes near-instantaneous queue times are a beautiful thing.
Anything but tank. (Only in ESO where tanking is awful and not fun at all)
Playing your character the way your character should play is all that matters. Play as well as you can but never betray the character. Doing so would make playing an mmoRPG pointless.
Not only was my first MagDK character running around questing with One Hand and Shield (yes, you can laugh, my Skyrim roots are totally showing there), but I've found I really like the battlefield control aspects of ESO tanking.
Its also really easy to level new characters as tanks using Groupfinder for the Daily Random Dungeon. So all but 2 of my 11 characters can be played as tanks.
History, like a human being, is thirsty when it wakes from its slumber…History wants to drink up an enormous amount of blood. And even if history has tired of drinking blood, that’s only in regards to the amount. But what about quality? The larger the sacrifice is, the more delighted the cruel gods will be.
