Dear Infinite Loading Screen - A Loveletter

Dear Infinite Loading Screen,

as we know each other for so long, I'll call you Screeny, OK?

I know you have been around much longer than I have, but when we two met, it was love on first sight. You were very popular in Cyrodiil during that time and seemingly quite busy, but nevertheless: You, Screeny, took your time to visit me whenever I was least expecting to see you. We spent a lot of time together and became very close friends.

I was very nervous, when the developers announced that they would remove you, my dearest feature, from the game. But luckily, although they kept announcing it over and over again: You, Screeny, somehow managed to escape their grasp. Skills and armor sets were changed, new zones introduced, but you stayed with me, reliable yet unpredictable as always.

And then suddenly you were gone. Since the Summerset launch I was looking for you in Cyrodiil, but you were not there. Without saying goodbye to an old friend. I was hoping to see your come-back during Midyear Mayham - but no. Although others claimed to have seen you, I did not. That may have been my fault, however, as I was hanging out with your sister, Queuey, the Endless Waiting Queue. I hadn't met her for a while, so it was refreshing to see her in such a good spirit. I was wondering where you are, but she could not tell.

Without hope to meet you ever again, I decided to have a peek into Cloudrest - and there at last I found you. It was such a relief to see you in good health although I still don't understand why you hid in that small instance. You had all of Cyrodiil for your own. The Pact, the Dominion and the Covenant were in awe and fear of your mere presence. What drove you to Cloudrest? Were you locked up there by the developers? Did they at last catch you?

I believe so, but luckily it did not last for long. I noticed with joy and relieve that you somehow managed to break free with the last Update. Not only this, you somehow ascended to omnipresence. I met you in Cyrodiil since, but also in Cloudrest. I ran the new Wolfhunter dungeons and you were there, accompanied by your old mentor Random "Buggy" Dungeonfinder. Did he free you from your prison and teach you to become godlike? Last night I even met you, dear Screeny, in a public dungeon, which never happened before. I am so thankful that you are back.

Thank you for always being with me. You make me the happiest ESO gamer ever.

Yours with love,
Don

    Thanks for letting us know
History, like a human being, is thirsty when it wakes from its slumber…History wants to drink up an enormous amount of blood. And even if history has tired of drinking blood, that’s only in regards to the amount. But what about quality? The larger the sacrifice is, the more delighted the cruel gods will be.
