I came back to this game after a 6 odd month break expecting the pop to be non existant but was surprised at how lively the place is even playing at nz peak time on Xbox na

They should combine all servers. Pc, ps4, and Xbox. That way there would be a much larger player base to interact in game with. No I’m not in a guild. I don’t have time to dedicate to a guild. I work steady and I’m about to go back to school full time as well.

Believe it or not a lot of the zones when I log on are almost always quite dead and empty. It’s like there’s no incentive for them to interact. Like you have daily rewards? I regret to say it but maybe they should introduce some form of daily pve content. Something to accomplish as a group.

Maybe combine the consoles, it wouldn't be fair for them to play against keyboard/mouse.

Daily roaming super bosses that will roam the open game world (any zone anywhere in that zone) and people can join up and attack it. Take too long and it may call in one of it's friends who/which is a super miniboss for extra difficulty and extra loot. Just an idea. This super boss should be very difficult and have special mechanics that are difficult to avoid without skill.

playstation does allow for a keyboard and mouse to be used if devs enable it to be...as I understand. maybe ps users could merge onto PC servers

While the previous commentor was a bit crass, they have a valid point. If you really do want to enjoy an MMO like ESO and many others, PC is THE only way to do it. Consoles are for shooters and Mario and stuff. No reason you can't have both

I used to play on PC and now I'm on PS4. I think there is a difference in platform population, but ps4 na is pretty populated too.

And I think I'm enjoying it more on PS4. Way bigger screen.

Really? Never felt this way. Recently switched to Xbox EU and it is fairly crowded. Even in the night I see a lot of people running around in towns.

Plain wrong. Some MMORPGs are not meant for consoles, true. ESO is. Pretty sure the console population for ESO is overall a lot bigger and healthier than the PC population. I wouldn't take the campaigns as an indicator, I'd argue PvP players tend more towards PC whereas PvE players might favour consoles.

FFXIV on console is doing incredibly well, too.

The OP's complaint is pretty meaningless without knowing which server he's playing on and at what time in relation to that server's time zone.

I play on the east coast North American server. Normallly I’m on during the afternoon or evening hours as my time is very limited. When this new game comes out at the end of the month because it’s time consuming to find very many people on to do things with, ’ll probably take another month break. Even longer once I start school.

No they should not.
If it's as dead as you say on PS4, then it's not worth the investment.
But from what I am reading here, the majority of players on PS4 seems to be disagreeing to the server being dead.

I must partially agree with Edaphon though. Everything would be better if people would finally accept PCs as the best gaming choice.

I am VERY annoyed by PS4 players. Because whenever I get contacted by men in flirt chats, I delight once they tell me they are gamers. Just to learn later, they are console gamers..... needless to say, I instantly end contact upon learning this.

PS4 is the bane of my happiness.

Afaik, you can ask support to do a one-time migration from console to PC, but I'm pretty sure you have to buy the game again for PC since it'd be a completely different copy on a completely different system.

In terms of low populations and stuff, I wouldn't know since I've only ever played on PC, but weren't there talks or rumors about cross-platform play being considered? Or am I just imagining things?

I was on last night never encountered more then ten people and waited in the random queue for over an hour and a half before giving up. Most of the players I did encounter in bulk were standing around doing nothing but dueling in the outposts. In the chat channels you have the same thing you have every night. Some random player spamming (fill in whatever item name) a common etc. asking anywhere from 40,000 g and above.

When I played the beta (pc) it was different. I do see more people posting here but they have xbox I imagine. Unless I spend the time trolling every forum section, every player’s profile, I wouldn’t get an accurate number of how many ps4/Xbox/pc players there really are. Only Bethesda or Zenemax has those stats.

I also suspect it might have to do with how expensive the game is as well. Meaning everything in the crown store etc. All those dlc packs alone would cost over one-fifty. There’s so many factors I think that might be playing into it. Then what’s going to happen to the game when Elder Scrolls 6 comes out in the next year or so? I suspect console wise this game will be rushed into the ER.

As it is I am thinking about getting an Xbox just so I can play certain games with my friends that you can’t get on ps4.

Regarding those saying they can migrate your account from PS4 to PC, that's just plain false. Also, telling anyone to grow up for playing on a different platform is incredibly immature. Shame on y'all.

I'm not sure about PC to console, and I don't think it's entire accounts. I know someone in one of my trade guilds was talking about account migration not too long ago, but they weren't going to be able to take stuff like their Crown Gems or mounts/houses (aside from like one or two I think). I've never had to ask anything about account migration, so I honestly don't know any real details, sorry n__n'. Your best bet would be either to do a quick Google search for something like 'ESO account migration between console and PC' and seeing if any helpful threads from here or Reddit pop up, or shooting support a ticket about it.

See I don’t pvp. I had no idea there was a pvp event going on. That quite actually explains a lot then. Once the event is over then I’m sure there will be more then enough people to do groups with.

Everything is merged on FF online to so I think it would be possible. However this may make things such as long loading screens (had to shut the game down 5 times because of this already) much worse if there is more ppl..

Yeah it's a Midyear Mayhem encore event (for some reason they thought it would be a good idea to have another PvP event while Cyro performance is abysmal). It ends on Jan 21, so you should start to see things pick up again after that.

The biggest dividing factor are addons. Console will never have addons. So if they'd ever consider merging servers for PC and consoles (which imho might never happen) they have to forbid or prohibit the use of all PC addons for ESO.
