I think the only major dragons still alive atm would be Nahfahlaar aka Naafaaliargus and Parthurnaax and they'd be in seclusion. I could see maybe High Hrothgar being opened in the future and players able to take special max-lvl endgame lessons from the big dude, and maybe you run into Nahfahlaar on the lam and help him out. He has to survive to make it into Tiber Septim's service.

Mirmulnir is active. Specifically in The Reach. Also, it's not like non-dragonborn can actually kill them. You can bring one down, but you can't bake it off and keep it from reviving on its own later.

I don't believe anything in game indicated that the dragons revive on their own. All of the ones killed by the Akaviri are dead until Alduin gets free. Alduin raises them, the bones don't just decide they've napped long enough and pop out for a snack.

    One big and simple NO.

It would completely ruin the lore. Only dragon in the game should be Paarthurnax on the top of the Throat of the World.

Except having a dragon besides paarthurnax in game isn't a lore break in the slightest.

I'm sure that if dragons appeared in Second Era it would be in lore.

It is, dragons were being hunted up until Tiber's reign.

Herein is recorded the list of known dragons, both living and dead, including those slain by the Dragonguard since the time of its founding, as well as those slain in earlier ages, where they can be identified. Unfortunately, only a few of the dragons slain by our Akaviri predecessors during the Crusade were recorded and thus this list is sadly incomplete.
    Deceased by Report

Nahagliiv - Local tales name him as the dragon buried in the mound west of Rorikstead. No date associated with his death, although almost surely dates to the Dragon War era.

Odahviing - Records dating to the Crusade of interrogation of captured Dragon Cultists indicate that this dragon was buried in a mound in the southeast of Skyrim, near Riften.

Sahloknir - Local legends claim this is the dragon buried in the mound near Kyne's Grove, slain by the Nord hero Jorg Helmbolg in the First Era.

Viinturuth - Death dating back to Dragon War era, according to documents recovered from Dragon Cult temples which record his burial near Lake Yorgrim.

Vuljotnaak - Death dating back to Dragon War or just after, according to recovered Dragon Cult documents, which record his burial in a mound near Granite Hill.

    Slain by the Dragonguard

Grahkrindrog - Slain in 2E 184 after perpetrating great slaughter in Winterhold and Eastmarch. Name confirmed with assistance from the College mages.

Krahjotdaan - Slain in 1E 2871 in the southern Jerall Mountains, name confirmed by the dragon's own account.

Unnamed Dragons - Numbering 12, as recorded in the Annals dating back to the founding of Sky Haven Temple.

    Known to Live

Ahbiilok - Sightings dating back to the early years of the Dragonguard throughout the northern Jerralls. Multiple attempts to kill him have failed. He is believed to be lairing somewhere in Morrowind.

Mirmulnir - Last sighted in the Reach in 2E 212.

Nahfahlaar - Repeated alliances with mortal protectors which have prevented his elimination. His last known protector was the King Casimir II of Wayrest, which the Dragonguard successfully ended in 2E 369. He escaped and current location is unknown.

Paarthurnax - The legendary lieutenant of Alduin in the Dragon War. He is now known to lair on the Throat of the World under the protection of the Greybeards of High Hrothgar. Master Araidh continues the established policy of avoiding direct confrontation with the Greybeards while waiting for an opportunity to exact justice upon him.

Really wanna see a dragon? Well only way is for ZoS to open up High Hrothgar and we all can see Parthy (Parthanaax). But I doute that since the grey beards only like to welcome those who want to enlightenment from the way of the voice and as they stated time and again any one NOT drovakin take years of studying just to barley whisper one part of a word of power. So no dragons nor shouts were all stuck with giant daedra titans and deadroths.

According to the timeline Nahfaalaar is back in hiding since King Casimir II's reign was a couple hundred years before the Interregnum. He's got 300 years to go before he can hook up with TIber Septim and become besties, so it wouldn't be that big of a stretch where they add a quest to protect him or help him evade the remaining Dragonguard/early Blades. As for Parthurnaax, I wonder if there'd be a way to open High Hrothgar around the time they introduce spellcrafting and back then the Greybeards would be less stand-offish towards pilgrims and visitors. Of course you'd have to walk the 7000 steps the long way (no wayshrine for you mister!), and if you complete a special set of trials you get to train with the big guy.

This is what I'm thinking: ZOS has stated that spellcrafting will involve the runic words we currently see with enchanting runes. Those runes are mostly a Nedic bastardization of draconic Words of Power (Rotmulaag). Back then only the Three Tongues mastered the dragonspeech, so the everydayman couldn't really make sense of them so they devised their own variant that allowes for infusing power into items in the present day. They stated that players would have to complete a quest to find tablets to unlock these runic words. What if Parthurnaax can give you the location of some of these tablets, or as a side quest, allow you to meditate under his tutelage to 'research' a lesser word of power. He himself stated by the time of Skyrim that it had been over a hundred years since anyone had trained with him before the Dragonborn. It's not a big stretch that it would've been more common for people to make the pilgrimage and train under the big guy.

Also having him as somewhat of a hidden celebrity would provide him some additional protection against the overzealous Dragonguard/early Blades, who really aren't in high regard after they screwed the pooch with both Reman III AND his son and heir.

I would like to see a DLC with time traveling to one huge zone (or more of them) in the age of dragons.
  • Earthwardzilvox_ESO
Lore wise we really shouldn't be encountering them. That doesn't mean they won't show up, since ESO has already taken some liberties for the sake of gameplay.

You may have just taken the record for largest necro on the ESO forums of all time... this is 4 year old topic.

If your efficiency is anything to go by then we can rest assured Necromancer will be meta as heck.

(I'll seriously never understand why topics don't auto-lock after 2-3 months... this shouldn't even be possible lol, come on ZOS)

Yeah I don't think dragons are tripping over themselves to meet us either, considering, y'know, what happened and all. :P
