No offense guys, but this has been going on for months now and I need to vent!
Literally 50% of all posts on this board are about Indriks, feathers, berries, TICKET, event duration, TICKET cooldown. dailies cooldown and TICKETS.

All this hassle for a mount? A mount that works exactly like the free horse you get from the lvl-up advisor and gives you no advantage whatsoever?

"But an Indrik is unique!!!" No, it's not. Everybody has it. Everybody. Their grandmothers have it too. Even I have it (because I did a few dailies for the reward boxes) even though I'm not going to ever use it. You won't impress anyone with an Indrik mount.
"But getting that mount is such a satisfying accomplishment!" Is it? Logging in on specific dates to port from A to B, gather 5/5 gobbleberries, then port back to A to get your TICKET truly is a feat others are going to admire you for...

The absurdity is reaching a new level with the upcoming Midyear Mayhem event. People who have avoided PvP like the plague for years are about to enter Cyrodiil for the first time in their lives to get their TICKETS. I've seen 4,871 threads about "how to do PvP without having to do PvP". For a split second I even considered dropping my life-long habit of not attacking peaceful questers in Cyrodiil towns.

"Just let people play the game the way they like!" you say. Oh fine, you're right. All I want is you to take a deep breath and reflect on whether THIS is really the game you've always wanted.
Logging in on schedule to do a boring quest you've done countless times before to get TICKETS for a useless mount everybody else has? Even entering PvP, something you've always detested, for TICKETS? Are you telling me this is the game you enjoy?

Come on, don't let the devs get away so cheaply! Wouldn't you rather play new content that's fun and enjoyable? Content that's a reward in itself? Content that's bug-free and lag-free even?
Please think about it while you're getting your TICKETS, that's all I ask.

I gave up caring about the mount after my second feather. I only use Senche or Wolves anyway.

I completely agree. It's only collectible (if you care about such things) if it's difficult to obtain. ZOS made it incredibly easy to obtain the tickets and so it's as common as the basic lvl10 mount. It's worthless.

the indriks look better than the boring dull starter horse, so for me that enough. don't have too many mounts since i don't spend money on the crates. don't like pvp much, but I'm not going to complain much about it either. UNlike others I don't care about looking "unique" I only care about whether or not I like how my chars look, mounts included

People have been screaming for mounts to earn by playing the game for years, now we finally have one and it's got some neat options at that.
Just let people enjoy that, if you don't want to grind for it then ignore it and play what you're interested in.

Is there any other way to get the Indrik? (apart from buying TICKETS from the crown store, which was announced only a week ago, probably won't be available until March and will cost an undisclosed amount of crowns per TICKET, that is)

Do you like the nascent indrik or one or more of its evolutions?
Then you need the event TICKETS, for feathers and berries.

That said, no one needs to do each and every event for its full duration, one can even skip one, maybe two events entirely and still get enough TICKETS to buy and evolve at least a couple of indriks, so just like you I don't get why everybody is fretting so much.

I appreciate that ZOS made a new mount that is obtainable in-game, but they really made this whole thing far more complicated than it needed to be.

Do X on days during Y event to get tickets. Collect tickets to get feathers. Collect more tickets to get berries. Watch out, you can only hold 12 tickets! And you can 't hold 2 of the same feather*!

They literally made 3 new currencies for a mount. And they didn't tell us how it was all supposed to work until 3 months in.

Edit for clarity: *you can have extra feathers of the same type, just not on the same character.

As you’ve said, I think the biggest issue is that by mid year they’ll be as prevalent as any other mount.

I won’t fault people for wanting one, but they’re certainly not a status symbol of anything other than dedication.

BG PvP is the only reason I still play. I don’t even Cyrodiil, let alone collect tickets. I don’t even know how to gobble berry.

But I am looking forward to the influx of players who have never PvP’d. I might even do the Cyrodiils just to find more of them.

I agree mostly. I was excited when I got my indrik. Then I noticed everybody around me with one and felt less special. Switched back to my striped gorne wolf and felt unique for being the only guy not on an indrik.

But people are going to do what they want. All that matters is that I'm doing what I want.

Because interesting new players to the game is a good thing. If more players can be brought to Cyrodiil that can usually be considered a good thing

The writing has been on the wall since 2015 when ZOS walked back on its word that ESO would be sub-only and wouldn't have an in-game store. Since then the game has increasingly become a log-in-log-out festival designed purely for those "active player" numbers:

- Daily crafting writs
- Daily guild quests
- Daily world boss/delve quests in DLC zones
- Daily PvP quests in Cyrodiil/IC
- One daily quest-like event after the other
- Daily pledges

Arguably only the pledges provide any kind of actual entertainment because of the group dynamics, but even those get old. The fact is that the game is becoming about the carrots that ZOS keeps hanging in front of our faces instead of any sort of engaging content. That and pixels. Shiny, boring, cheap to make, expensive to buy pixels. Still the majority of the player base seem to be cheering them on, so I guess we get the game we (collectively) deserve?

This is why I'm waiting for Pantheon and playing ESO purely for lack of a better option. Which is a shame, because it could be a much better game than it is.

I see good and bad to all the talk.

A lot of people like the indriks, not because they imagine they'll be unique and other people will care that you have them, or because they somehow think they're have different abilities to every single other mount in the game, but just because they look nice and some of us like to find nice looking things for our characters. It was also a nice surprise that they're earned in-game and that generated a lot of excitement. So naturally people are talking about them whenever an event comes up.

The bad side is that a lot of the discussion on the forum is generated by ambiguity and missing information in ZOS's announcements. If they had been clear about the process, and explained the whole thing right from the beginning, there would be a lot fewer people asking the same questions about how it works, what they need to do, how long they'll be available etc.

But complaining that people are talking about an aspect of the game just because you're not interested in it is ridiculous. Sometimes I come on this forum and leave after 5 minutes because I feel like all everyone's talking about is PvP balance and server stability in Cyrodiil or the dungeon finder working/not working/choosing the 'wrong' people for groups or something else which isn't of interest to me. Should I make a topic demanding they all stop talking about what interests them in ESO just because it doesn't also interest me?

I personally have never cared for the barking feather deer. So many impressive mounts exist, but I can say this is the best mount for those vehemently against paying a single dollar extra to support the game that create threads saying everything is p2w and all mounts are locked behind pay walls, etc. [edited to remove baiting comment]

TICKETS! It got me back to ESO to be honest but I start to feel fatigue over those events already. I could use them being spaced out a bit more. However, I don't have a problem with people enjoying things. I like the mount and I don't have a problem if everybody has it. I play ESO mostly for quests and lore since I like TES series and we haven't got a main TES game in such a long time. I'm still behind on DLCs and Indrik looks like a nice mount to complete Summerset with. I like to use "regional" mounts while questing.

I agree, it's too complicated. BTW, was that really a case that you couldn't hold more than one feather of the same kind? And here I was salting about that I didn't buy spares when I had the chance.

You can have multiples of the same feather just not in the same space. So one in bank, one in bag is fine. Or one each on 2 separate characters, another in bank, etc.

@heaven13 is correct. you can bank extras or have them on separate characters. I was just highlighting the complicatedness of the whole system.

My main issue is the clear as mud communication around this combined with an over complicated way to grind for them.

Else its an pretty nice looking free mount.
Obviously anybody who play most days will have 5 at the end of this year.
