Would you like to have a class change token available, now that we're getting yet another new class?

Honestly this should've been a thing for years already. There are so many players who love to stick to their one special character, that gets all the attention and with the scale of things this game has to offer it's impossible to just make a new character with the same worth as the last.

Think of not just leveling a new character from 1-50... That's not the issue.

What makes us want a class change are things like:
1) Completed quests, adventures
2) Earned personal achievements
3) Character's backstory/RP
4) Earned skill lines & Skyshards
5) PvP Rank and Titles
6) Crafting Skills and Research progress
7) Special connection with said character
8) Time limitations for all of the above

And of course in some cases:

9) Dissatisfaction with the direction of our main character's class or desire to try something new.

All of the things in these points above can take up to months and even years to replicate on a fresh start character. Something so complicated and time consuming that many of us would rather quit the game than do all of this all over again, if we suddenly lost our main characters.

Can we please consider this? ZOS? The profit for you is that this would generate insane amounts of revenue. Especially if implemented well.
a) Make Cadwell's Gold a baseline requirement for class change tokens!
b) AND add a 6-12 month cooldown (accountwide) to the purchase of this token.
c) Price them at 5000 Crowns minimum.

This way everyone will have to keep making alts too. Let dedicated main character players enjoy their side of the endgame as well.
I think all players having completed Caldwell’s Gold on a character should unlock one class change token to that character as a reward for completing such a feat. If they monetize them, price it at 5000 Crowns and I won’t mind as much.

To all the people who say nobody would play this game if we had class change tokens, why do people play FFXIV? You can change your class whenever you want in that game yet their population is just as healthy as ESO's, if not healthier.

I don't see what it would hurt. Lots of people only like to have one 'main' or don't like to do alts. People who like to change what they play for the current meta, whether for raiding or pvp, tend to have multiple classes already.
Having an option to swap it up at a cost seems fine to me.

That being said, I don't see ZoS adding it. They didn't with warden when people were asking for it then, too.

Yeah. When I made my Nightblades, we still had the Haste skill, which some of them were built around. Most classes have changed quite a bit in 5 years, and I don't think it's necessary to lock us into a choice we made back then when something else is more fitting for that character now.

It's certainly ridiculous from a realistic perspective that you can change your name and even race, but not your profession. Become a vampire and cure it as often as you like, but apparently, you're a Templar for life. I'd say it might be genetics, but you can change those too, so ...

Not sure if I'd use one, but I see no problem with having the option.

If people want to pay to change class repeatedly to chase the meta then that's cool.

I’m going to make a magicka and a stamina necromancer, so I don’t need a token for that. But I would use it on my main char that is a magsorc who has only been my crafter/quester for a long time now.

I actually enjoy leveling up new characters, especially with a new class. I had a lot of fun with my warden, doing anything in morrowind.
Really like the feeling of character progression when you keep unlocking new skills and passives while casually running around. Much more enjoyable to me than having a basicly maxed out character and having to grind skill lines. I prefer doing that along the way.

Yes because I am emotionally attached to my main and all my other characters are just for writs and event quests because I am not attached to them. I am immersed in the journey my main went through after all this time. I tried making a new character my main once, but I found that doing everything I already did again was too tedious to be bothered with. If there was class change token I would've bought it. It's not that I hate the class I main, I just want to try something new without investing hundreds of hours again. And for those who main a class that gets changed in an unfavorable way this would be a great option.

And for those who like starting over on a new character, there's nothing stopping anybody from doing that even if there's a class change token. Just don't buy it since it's an option.

I have a character, 4 years old, maxed out on most things including crafting skills, traits and motifs. He also has a very highly developed character and background. He would have been a necromancer, if there was such a thing when I started playing the game. At the moment he is a templar, but the only templar skill he uses is Repentance. It would be really great if I could turn him into the Necromancer he always should have been. Deleting and starting again is not an option.

I'd rather they actually buff my class. I made magicka warden my main because I love the druid archetype, but they're just so damn weak that it's hard to justify playing them. Hopefully the class rep program will result in some actual progress for the class since ZOS had no idea what they were doing.

Making warden my main took forever though as I needed to catch up on all the story content that my previous main had completed. I would have obviously bought a class change token instead if it was available. The fact that we don't have this feature is pretty frustrating.

With how much they change classes around I think it would be good to have a class change token. I hate my char in this patch but don't want to grind for another so a class change token would be great for me.

Leveling alone and progression isn't the issue. It's everything else that ties you to that one specific character.

It's an MMORPG. Asking for a class change token is even lazier than WoW giving you level boosts. Leveling is incredibly fast and easy anyway. If your excuse is you don't have the time to make a new character then maybe this game genre isn't for you.

Yes, I’d buy, but not because I particularly want to change a character to a fully developed necro. I’m fine with starting from scratch on another character, having already done it about 20 times. Got it down to a science now ;)

LOL I guess the above option is about the closest thing to saying I'm all for adding tokens to player accounts/Crown Store, but I'd never use one myself. I'm all about alts and deleting/rerolling if I don't like one of them. I'm not everybody, however.

Never mind. Just register me as saying yes to the concept.

I will be leveling up a new character as a Necromancer for sure. But at the same time, part of me is keen on changing the class of my main if the Necro class is solid. I feel like the look and feel of that character when I made it was more akin to it being a necromancer, but I settled on sorc due to limited options. So given a chance to make it a necromancer would be interesting.

It is about necro. The title makes that very clear.

It does not matter since the odds of Zos offering this anytime soon is pretty slim. Doubtful they would even look at this poll as they likely have access to much more reliable information on the subject.

No, do not add the class change token.
If a single character is so important to you, why would you want to change something so fundamental as its class?

Class change tokens would simply result in competitive areas like PvP zones and trials being filled with the FOTM templates that would change with every update, all the more so as ZOS would see the business sense in making just enough changes in skill balancing etc each update to prompt another wave of class change token purchases.

Rather than dumb the game down even further with mass harmonisation of characters and with no decision ever taken in the game being unable to be reversed so no decision ever requires thought or responsibility, I'd far rather have very expensive crown store tokens enabling players who have completed everything in the game on at least one character to be able to create an instant maxed character. That way it would meet the demands of the few without impacting on everyone else.

My no vote includes wanting the name and race tokens to go away. If I want that much difference, it should be a new character, and that includes learning all the new skills.

That learning, by the way, is why a class change token isn't viable. Your changed character would have no experience in the class skills they couldn't access before, so they'd be horribly crippled after the re-class. It's not like the weapon, armour, and guild skills that anyone can learn, even if they don't ultimately use them. The class skills can't be learned by anyone who's not of that class, so a re-spec leaves you unable to allot points there.

Yes, i would love to have a class change token. As was previously stated, sometimes a character is started that at first you love. You collect the skill points, the achievements, learn the crafting ...and then there are changes that make that character no longer fun to play with the play style you enjoy.

While i myself am an alt-o-holic and have no problem leveling new characters, what a waste it is to have the one that i started with sitting as a banker/master crafter because they happened to catch the heavy end of a nerf stick. Not every person who plays has time or desire to level multiple toons. This might allow people who would normally quit playing change to a new class they might also enjoy if the character they have grown fond of becomes.. not so fun any more .
