Put a special npc that knows all about every trader in the world. You can search any item through out newly implimented search function with him. He will allow you to purchase items from him (through any trader in the world. He sees all their inventory and prices.) But he charges you a convience fee for doing so. Maybe like a 500-1000 gold fee per transaction through him.
But if you see something from him and you don't want to buy it from him it gives you an option to search around the world clicking every trader because they at least know the item exists at a trader.
It is a convience to everyone with the search function and a form of a market board and a gold sink all in one.
Now to prevent lag this guy would have to appear in multiple spots around the world, but this right here solves a very big issue this game has.
I don't like playing this game to spend my entire night looking at guild traders around the world experiencing "unusually long load times" with each teleport. It usually just makes me log off the game instead of playing content with friends or random people. That is one less healer and tank in your queen for stuff. But if I could do a quick search buy what I want I wouldn't get frustrated. We are not cavemen lol it took way too long for us to get a text chat option so this should come as well!
The guild trader thing has been going around for ages. It is not going to change, so get over it. I would prefer they put their resources to improving quality and load times (seeing the lag between my wife and I with her next to me is terrible). If you go around all night searching just for a motif, then that is your choice. You can utilize guildies, asking them to help scour the lands. You can use chat in hopes of tracking down a seller. Heaven forbid you do some work and have a little social interaction. The loading screens ARE a killer in this case, though.
Your idea of having the one trader who is linked to them all, though, is certainly a viable solution that is actually helpful (unlike others that just whine worse than my little girls do and want to make life easy with a universal AH). You can be charged a fee to purchase then and there (guilds still get their cut and a reason to bid on traders), or the name of the trader, so you can travel manually to avoid the extra fee. I would have it be a hefty fee, though.
Now.. Back on to the topic at hand...

So your agreeing with my idea why are you insulting me? Lol me and my wife are playing right next to each other as well as do a lot of people. You insult me saying I'm avoiding social interaction? I actually don't avoid it. I'm very interactive with my guild and randoms. Always willing to talk with them, always trying to give lowbies advice or just offer load out assistance or just talking with ramdoms, butr here's the problem with your logic.
I WANT THE MOTIF. Not my guild. So why am I going to ask my guild mates or shout and ask random people "hey have you seen this motif and if so can you please remember which trader it was at so I can buy it?" I am in many trader guilds and ask, but what incentive do they have to take their personal time to help me get an item that only benefits me? I am not the type of person to beg for help or make other people join in my suffering lol. I ask them if they are selling it and if they aren't selling it I don't ask for help finding it.
Seriously your logic there makes no sense. If I listened to what you just recommended I would constantly have people always looking for motifs and wasting there time with a broken trader system lol.
