Back in the closed beta, we would receive email surveys for our feedback. Now all we have are the forums and in-game feedback tools, but none of those can objectively measure something like Player Satisfaction.
A large, randomized sample of players from each region and platform would be able to give ZOS a clearer picture into the attitude/requests of the ESO community. The Class Rep program was a start, but it has inherent flaws. The forums do not accurately reflect the attitude of the larger ESO population.
A survey would be able to objectively measure things such as:
- How much someone enjoys the game
- How likely someone would be to recommend the game to one of their friends
- How likely they are to continue purchasing DLC
- What their biggest issues/complaints are with ESO
- Potential features they would like to see in the future
- A ranking of what means the most to them (PvP, PvE, housing, role-play, lore, etc)
Not only would a survey allow the community to give their objective feedback directly to ZOS, but it would also provide a sense that ZOS is genuinely interested in how the community feels about ESO. It has been done in the past, so it is possible. The entire population obviously doesn't need to be surveyed, but an adequately large random sample of a few thousand players would be sufficient to get an accurate representation of the general state of the ESO community.
