It's all about confidence in your role. If you know you're build is good and works, you can tell those kind of people to shove it or gtfo if they have a problem.

Only problem is when you're new to tanking(like the wife), and might actually think you're doing something wrong and start questioning yourself, because a random moron has his own idea on what skills to use. Multiple templars can use Repentance now anyhow, so tanks can finally start using it.

Dunno how many times I've been told by clueless people to slot x skill or use this and that as tank or healer, when it's totally not needed and just counterproductive in that specific dungeon. I just ignore them or flame them lol.

People get so many ideas based on theory and reading online, but don't know what works practically for different encounters. Especially the case with people that mainly plays dps and never really tanked themselves. In many cases it's not even about the actual skill or whether it's needed, they just wanna show that they "know stuff" and be the boss.

You can't rely on your healer being a Templar and giving you shards. Many Warden healers don't have a high enough undaunted level to have Orbs unlocked yet. She's fine. They were just being pricks.

I was recently the first participant in the following (paraphrased) exchange:

"I'm sorry, but this character hasn't unlocked orbs yet."
"Oh. ... Do you have shards?"
    "No. I'm a warden."

But it didn't get worse than that.

For real i got crapped on before for being a stam sorc instead of mag sorc during vet cradle dipthongs complaing im not pulling my best cuz im not mag... welp i soloed velidreth from half health to finish after the big talkers tank dos and healer died looted the divines helm the guy trashing me wanted recorded a video of me destroying it just to spite his toxic arse and sent it to him in a psn message. I keep the hate mail as a cherished treasure.

That's the thing. The difference between "BIS DD's" and those that can handle themselves. I have two such characters now. They are not the highest DD's I have, and they are not the fastest to have things done - but they do it. A stamsorc and a stamwarden, Orc/Nord (the orc/stamsorc is actually really even a PVP toon). They do well without healers, they do well without tank, they do well solo. When all else fails, I trust them - and generally it works. "No, I'm tired of dying to this damn Zaan/Balorgh now, I'll give a few more tries on my stamsorc, I'll be back in a minute".

It makes me laugh, do you not know that the word tank in this game starts with dks (sarcasm people) when in actual fact the people your wife ran with for a short period of time they start with d and end with ks

You can tanks in this game on all classes mag or stam or health when it comes to most vet dungeons, all you do when building a tank is you work with the class skills you have or the skills available to you from other skill lines

As long as a tank does these things, take agro, debuff boss, buff team, sustain and control the fight then repeat and maybe do some damage if resources permits

So repentance erm check sustain on corpses

For reals templar tank plus repent just sounds like heaven dps kills the bodies tank gets stam off the bodies keeps tanking

So wife played eso today did a random vet. shes not new to tanking but caught absolute hell from several players for using it to heal her stam and heal because the healer wasn't doing shards or orbs. Last i checked we can now have multiple templars using repent on same bodies?

But overall asking what the heck went down today with the major butthurtery buff

That's funny because I used to catch holy hell for not using repentance on my templar (healer).

People have always been weird over that skill.

Remind your wife of the ignore option. It comes in real handy.

I agree with you that dps need to kill adds to use repentance that’s why repentance would be on my trash bar rather than my boss bar, repentance helps if boss has adds as well but I would look at other sources of sustain on my boss bar but keep repentance on my trash bar if I was only running one s&b bar if two bar s&b then you can place skills where you want as long as you hit passives you need for that bar

Templar’s are good for supplementing heals to help healers
