In a trial... Now thats a different story!

My favourite healer name is Dont Heal Noobs.

If someone rushes off and pulls all the aggro before the tank or I am ready, then they can die if it's a choice between me and them.

Noobs need to learn to play with others.

Play to the ability of the group- sometimes that means not rushing through. If that feels like it's a waste of the extra 3 minutes to complete the run to you, then join a guild that does speed runs and play with them where you can all criticise each other for taking 3 seconds longer to complete the whole run...

The problem is, it's not always the one who pulls that ends up tanking, the mobs run back and attack random people who did nothing wrong. If not for that fact, I would follow this philosophy, but as it is, I take over as soon as I get there.

I will save his butt and taunt whatever boss or trash the guy pulled. Mainly because I want the run to be smooth and rest of the group shouldn't have to suffer because of one impatience guy.

Also, if I don't engage quickly and get aggro back, the mobs or boss will likely go for the healer(trying to save the speedrunner). There are far more annoying things going on in pug groups anyhow, so just one guy being trigger happy, I can deal with it.

I don't actually mind impatience dps, if they know what they're doing. As long as I don't have to spend forever single target hunting mobs all over the place, re-positioning bosses, mechanics being triggered at the wrong spot etc making the fight supermessy and much slower.

"If you aggro it, you can tank it until I get there."

See, I'll do my job tanking once I'm there, but I'm not rushing to keep up unless the entire group is moving at that pace. And if someone has asked to do the quest, expect me to stick to them.

The exception is other party members using actual taunts on the boss. Those get an explanation of their taunt and then:

"You taunt it, you tank it."

I don't have a problem with people running ahead of me (when I'm the tank), provided they can hold their own...have only seen it a few times in vet dungeons though.

I don' tank, I heal, so I always let the tank run ahead. If the tank is slow, so what? No need to rush through the whole thing. :) And if someone runs ahead instead of letting the tank go first and we run into difficulties because of that - also not an issue, we can always try again. At least that's my perspective - the only thing that does bother me is people getting impatient when someone takes a second too long, or folks who start complaining because of some minor mistake, but so far I've been very lucky with my groups.

ideally i'd let them die. Sometimes you gotta try to salvage the situation though.

The funniest is when someone runs ahead to a boss and get killed, then we finish the fight while they take a dirt nap.

Depends, if im doing a daily sure speedrun all day. As long as the dps has good damage output. Ive seen to many people assigned to dps and their dps is like 10k at best. Bro, if you have 10k dps on a normal random daily, dont be pulling mobs and pray that the tank and the healer are able to get you out of the mess you made. I only have a tank made for trials due to this everyday occurance in random dailies. With my trial tank its only for tanking, just taunt and heals. In trials people are more aware of the roles that are to be played. And as a tank, i keep the boss fixated on me, i dont worry about the mobs as much as the other tanks pull those. The guild i run with have two kinds of tanks, tanks for bosses and tanks for mobs. We are able to do both but each one focuses on their specialty for the most part. My trials tank, almost impossible to die in pve, but absolutely no damage output.

Depends on how stupid the pull was.

Trash fights, an easy boss fight, or it is abundantly obvious the group is ready, yeh I'd get in there.

If it is a vet dungeon, and the group isn't together, I'd contemplate letting them die, not to be an ***, but because after he wipes, the group would have a better chance of winning fully formed.

As a DD mostly, we should always follow the unwritten law of the land, IMO. Tank leads, DD's follow behind ready to smash & burn everything after the tank pulls adds together in between bosses and healer rides in the back keeping everyone's lives together in the awesome way they do (I love healers; since they actually take time to build a characters solely to help others, gotta love em! :) ). Such an easier way to competently complete group content, regardless of difficulty. If you run in and John Wayne your way through without coordination and get killed or complain on the tank, that's on you.

Sure I'll help, but only after helping the rest of the team deal with the leftovers that the supposed DPS couldn't be bothered to kill. Whatever happens to the "speedy DPS" during that time isn't my fault.

Most of the time they either die or they reach the boss who is barely fazed by their damage.

    • Parse Food for PvE:(DPS) Ghastly Eye Bowl (increases Max Magicka by 4592 and Magicka Recovery by 459 for 2 hours).
    • Gold/Purple Food for Sorc PvP and Meme Tanking:(PvP) Clockwork Citrus Filet (increases Max Health by 3326, Health Recovery by 406 [useful if stage 1 vampire], Max Magicka by 3080, and Magicka Recovery by 338 for 2 hours). Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

As a tank, it's my job to set the pace. I get speed runners all the time and, if they can survive and don't leave my poor stam dps peeps too far behind, I help clean up when I get to the mob. Most of the speed runners are just pulling up to a point and stopping to clear. I'm all good with that. If they get to a boss and pull, then yes. Yes, I let them die.

We have to kill everything regardless of who hits is first. Unless someone is doing the dungeons for the first time, which is almost never the case, why would I care if people make the run faster? I just get my 2 keys or daily random XP faster.

The only think that I find annoying is people who take shortcuts and don't make sure everyone can follow their path.

As a tank, I am pretty aggressive about initiating next fight, but ask before skipping bosses or taking shortcuts to make sure everyone is on board. This usually isn't an issue since I almost never run normal, but things have been find recently while running random normals to level an alt.

One thing I won't do is deplete my stamina for the sake of running.

Why so many issues about it? On my DDs I often pull. By the time the tank gets there I have them neatly stacked, and the tank's welcome to take or leave the larger mobs. I only pull what I can handle, and I won't kill a boss without the group being there - I want to be sure that everyone gets the achievement if needed and that everyone can loot.

On my tank I'll take the larger mobs if a DD has pulled. If the DD dies in the pulling, not my fault nor worry. Don't pull what you can't handle by yourself.

The only time I become unhappy is if people skip mobs, leaving healer or a weaker DD to struggle behind. Even if you're in a hurry, at least make sure that your whole team reaches the finish.

Vanilla dungeons doesnt matter. Low tier dlc kinda matters. Tier two DLC its annoying. Tier 3 DLC you get one chance with me tanking. Tier 4 DLC i will drop group before dps can get to the next trash pack as group coordination is mhk and marches is critical.

Tank doesnt lead pugs though and if you are "THAT GUY" who gets all butthurt about being the leader, stay out of pugs cause you wont be sitting down for months
Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

But those are your definitions, you don’t get to make that choice for every groupfinder party you’re in. They could just as easily say to you “if you want a speedrun use your guilds. We want to loot every nook and cranny. You used the solo queue so go with what you got and quit bitching “.

People should play group activities to the group. If everyone is speedrunning you need to keep up. If everyone is lagging behind you, you should hang back and wait. If you need to do quest or an explanation of mechanics just ask. And if someone asks for quest or mechanics, don’t rush in and start the fight.

    For me, it depends.

If they're pulling it but doing a decent job handling the mobs, and the rest of the pug seems to like the increased pace, then I'll fully support them and do all I can to enhance that faster pace. I <3 a good team that steamrolls a dungeon!

If they're some nooblet(s) that obviously can't handle the hits and expect me to clean up the mess they're making, then I'll certainly hang back, let 'em faceplant and hope they learn a valuable lesson as to why that's such a bad idea. And those that don't learn make for fantastic entertainment.

Now if its just one person pressing forward but the other two are obviously not so keen to do so, especially if one of them gives a heads up they're there for the quest, I'll hold back and support them. I feel its important to support newer players no matter how "good" you get.

You just read my defentions without the context I see. Good for you.

Normal (non dlc) Dungeon PUG - No tank needed, most of them can be solo'd by one good DD or 2 mediocre ones. So unless you or someone in group is doing a quest, then there is no reason to play it slow. Always be respectful to the group dynamic though, so if someone is lagging behind then I slow down for them, so what if it takes an extra 5-10 mins, it is hardly a big deal.

Vet PUG - Tank dictates the speed, end of story. If they rush off like a monkey on speed, then that is their issue, im not gonna waste my stamina trying to keep up. When i do catch up then i will do what a tank does. But rest assured the fight would be much smoother if you just let a competent Tank dictate the fight and group things. In un-coordinated groups, Tanks seem to play the role of damage control more than anything else... oh look... the adds are all over the place, YAY! WTH, why on earth is the boss way over there?!... OH! i see you all wiped, LOL, watch me tank the boss solo for a few minutes before I actually decide to rez you... Oh i wiped too trying to rez you lot, whoops, nvm!

Normal (guild group) - i dont think i have ever done a random without it being a complete speed fest 4dd. Other than new alts that require quest. But no-one minds as it is through guild.

VET (Guild group) - there is an expectation that everyone is going to actually pay attention. I really do enjoy the times when the fights run smooth as it indicates everyone is pulling their weight, and challenging content can be enjoyed rather than being stressful.

TRIALS, ANY - Rushing ahead of tank... why on earth would you ever do this??????

In a coordinated or all in chat group, then speed runs are never an issue. In pugs where some guy just starts pulling without informing the rest, or is otherwise not considerate of what individuals in the group can manage, I'll take my time...

Should always be agreed in any case, how we run the dungeon. Just my 2p.

Run ahead of the tank at your own peril.

I am more than willing to let you die. And, I will park the boss right on top of your corpse just because I can. And I can hold it there for hours until you get tired of not being rezzed and leave the group.

You join a group activity, do the activity with the group.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Gary Gravestink "I am glad you died, I needed the help"
