Catching hell for using repentance on tank

So wife played eso today did a random vet. shes not new to tanking but caught absolute hell from several players for using it to heal her stam and heal because the healer wasn't doing shards or orbs. Last i checked we can now have multiple templars using repent on same bodies?

But overall asking what the heck went down today with the major butthurtery buff

Your wife ran into dumb toxic people. Repentence is perfectly fine on a tank now that the same corps can be repented by multiple templars.

idk man, some players are so elitist about the tanking role that they would rather the group be much less effective just to force a shield and a 1-hand sword on the tank because "that's how a tank should be"...

For real i got crapped on before for being a stam sorc instead of mag sorc during vet cradle dipthongs complaing im not pulling my best cuz im not mag... welp i soloed velidreth from half health to finish after the big talkers tank dos and healer died looted the divines helm the guy trashing me wanted recorded a video of me destroying it just to spite his toxic arse and sent it to him in a psn message. I keep the hate mail as a cherished treasure.

Tell her they were stupid and you got her back. Though on a serious note you can see a few threads elistism and toxicity that players seem to be speaking up aganist.

The best anyone can do is share there story and say this wasn't okay. We can do better as respectable humans.

I main a Templar tank now and he's arguably the best tank I've played. They made two great changes for Templar tanks recently which made a huge difference, the repenting of same bodies as other Templars and the changes to Channel Focus. Anyone who doesn't recognise that Templars make amazing Tanks are just ignorant, I've hade many compliments on my tanking using my Templar, I encourage your wife to rise above these idiotic imbeciles and continue with the tanking faith!

One time I tank for a low level pug and they said I'm the worst tank they've ever seen in any game because... I can't AoE taunt *shrug*

I'd say let it be water under the bridge... I caught grief one day because my tank had too much health.

(granted that was my mage health/pet tank with 63k health un buffed but I also have another that might slip through those idiots with his 30K health but 4k health regeneration).

I love my tanks. As long as you know what direction to make the boss turn *I* think you're good. Plus, its easy to get a random group as a tank and I've only gotten grief from one group.

Tell them to find another tank. I would like to know why a tank cant repent. As usual, it was likely dps b!+(#!n&.

Really tired of these people and like Insaid in another post, its happening more and more.

I run repentance on my Templar Tank, especially between trash kills. Silver leash kills stam easy. No issues, and lets us plow through trash very fast. Even have stamplars in group and they'll repent same time as me, no problem.

Never had anyone give me hell about it, but if they did I'd tell them to either CC the mobs themselves and/or laugh at them.

Ran a pledge the other day with two DPS that were using the Barrier ultimate. I bit my tongue and didn't say anything ... because I know I used the dungeon finder.

Exactly right. My problem with those that only want to do things "right" is there are so many different microcosms where they do things differently than others' "right" way. For example, while tanking I've taken garbage on the last boss of Blackheart Haven both for kiting him to the side and not kiting him to the side, each time being told I should always do it one way and not the other. Its just an example... toxic elitists will always find something that doesn't measure up to their standards so they're never worth worrying over.

I've seen that one a bunch while pugging as tank. Similarly many nooblet puggers don't get the concept of many bosses having attacks that are random (ie that momentarily ignore aggro). Another fun one when pugging with alts I'm leveling is trash talk from low CPers… who later faceplant at the boss. The secret to avoiding that embarrassment is realizing if someone is below level 50, Group Finder will neglect to tell you if they have CP.

Still, my favorite negative Group Finder experience while tanking was getting vote kicked by a group of low-levels for soloing a boss while they were lollygagging in the previous room looting chests. Apparently what I did was rude; ruder even than not keeping up with the guy giving them a free ride.

assume your healers and tanks are n00bs playing with broken fingers, build your dps accordingly

glass cannon dps isn't nearly as important as surviving to the next mob, and anyone trying to micromanage a dungeon group isn't worth taking seriously anyway

I've come across far more toxic ppl doing pve content as opposed to pvp.

Though, I've had fun and generally good experiences with group finder, but there is always one who knows everything and dies to the first mob or boss

You can't rely on your healer being a Templar and giving you shards. Many Warden healers don't have a high enough undaunted level to have Orbs unlocked yet. She's fine. They were just being pricks.

I built my stam sorc entirely with the expectation the team would suck. No glass glass cannons more of an armored cannon with assault rifles and kevlar. Me and wife had a vet cradle runthe tank was max cp all he did was bash and bash and bash burn out his stam and claim he was an amazing tank im like in what universe does a tank shield base for a taunt

Rule of thumb :
If skills do not lower your performance in any case but supplement. a skill is perfectly fine to use. Repentence on a Templar tank makes absolute sense in certain situations.
So tell her "do do a great job" and give her a kiss.

with ppl like those i like to leave the group, because as a tank i wont have any issue to get another group but for the group to find another tank or heals, well good luck with that! and on top of that even if the skill was like before when only could be used once on a corpse i would leave it to the tank if i see hes using that skill. because a tank without resources is a dead tank and a dead tank is in many cases a wipe. dps can use shards orbs or you know just do a heavy attack here and there (how do you do a pharse on a dummy because there are no dead bodies lying around to use repentance?!)
