Champion points and damage output

I feel like I'm missing something. I've been looking and asking around but the answers elude me.

How on Earth do you get your damage output over 30k?

I understand weaving and rotation. I think now my gear and weapons are good enough too.

I'm 468 CP right now. Do they make a big difference?

    T3hasiangod did a video, I think it was around 30% dps increase between CP160 and CP780.

    Main things for CP are assigning them in the correct places, accounting for jump points and optimising for you damage. They are very front loaded so any points after around 50 you see diminishing returns.

    I mentioned these earlier in another thread trying to get some assistance. I will update my CP allocation once I get home.

    If there isnt anything majorly wrong with my setup what could I be doing wrong? :/

    I feel I had more survivability when I had the Clannfear instead of the Scamp.

    2/2 Grothdarr Set. Both legendary. Divines
    Grothdarr Helmet, light, max mag glyph, divines.
    Grothdarr Shoulder, heavy, healthy glyph

    5/5 Necropotence. All legendary, divines with max Magicka glyphs
    Chest, Gloves, Sash, Shoes, Legs.

    Spell Strategist Necklace, purple, arcane, infused
    Spell Strategist Rings, purple, arcane, infused

    Front bar: Legendary Spell Strategist Inferno Staff, weapon damage glyph.
    Back bar: Legendary Spell Strategist Lightning Staff, flame damage glyph.

    Sounds like an awkward cross between petsorc and non-pet sorc.

    Try swapping your staves around (lightning front, flame back) as you'd want to use heavy attacks as spammable with 2 pets.

    Also there's no Blockade on either bar, it's one of the most powerful AoE abilities, definitely put this on your back bar. You're also missing Daedric Prey which gives your pets (and atro) a lot of extra DPS.

    Personally I'd swap out Mages Wrath and Flame Clench, put Blockade on your back bar and move Lightning Form to your front bar.

    Pet1, Pet2, Ward, Prey, Lightning, Destro Ult
    Pet1, Pet2, Blockade, Liquid, Surge, Atro

    Also are you using Spell Power Pots? They give 10% Spell Crit, 20% Spell Damage, 20% Magicka Recovery? And when testing use Elemental Drain from Destruction Staff skill line, gives Major Breach & Regen (which will always be active in any group, so you will use shield in group, ele drain on tests)

    Same question here. I'm 700 cp. Use alcast Vma non-pet build. All passives unlocked. Spell strategist+mother sorrow+valkin skoria. Thief mundus. Gold/purple gear. I barely make 25k. Is it animation cancelling that doubles your dps???

    Far from double your DPS, weaving is a lot of DPS yes since light attacks do a lot of damage this patch.

    'Weaving' not animation cancelling is possible since light attacks and skills have seperate cooldowns, so you can get a light attack and a skill off in the same time it would take to just do 1 skill (basically free dps).

    However animation cancelling is only really used in PVP as it doesnt increase dps or make it so you can cast more skills (since they have a set 1s cooldown), just makes it so the damage happens sooner, so means that people have less time to dodge it.

    The only form of 'animation cancelling' that should be used in pve is barswap cancelling which can shave off 0.5 seconds every 8-10 seconds (again not doubling your dps, maybe adding 1-2k).

    Oh, I am going to try out all these changes. Thank you so much! Ive been practicing with random abilities, which is why it seems like a hybrid weird combination.

    I really really love mages wrath, that ability alone melts players in deathmatches but I'll swap around and experiment with what you suggested.

    @siddique Ah if you're going into deathmatches you're going to want to swap skills around anyway. Take off blockade & liquid, also I'd remove the scamp there, but PvE dot's are a key source of damage.
