Jewelry crafting after the next chapter goes live

I wonder how jewelry crafting will be handled after the 2019 chapter goes live. It's possible that Zenimax makes no changes to how you can access it, but that seems unlikely. If Summerset is added to ESO+ then jewelry crafting becomes a perk of the sub.

However, they can separate it from the story/zone as they did with a couple of things from Morrowind. The options then would be a free addition to the base game like with battlegrounds or a buy it separately model like with the Warden.

Personally, I'd like to see it added to the base game even though it was a priority reason for my purchase of Summerset. What do you think will happen and more importantly, what do you think should happen with jewelry crafting?

Only six more months until the next chapter, not too early to start thinking about it.

Based on how battlegrounds went, and the entirety of Morrowing being pushed to DLC status game, jewelry crafting and Summerset will probably follow the same trend

I hope you are correct. But if you look at the three main components of the chapter, jewelry crafting seems like the easiest one to sell in the Crown Store.

That does seem to be the most likely way it will go.

Only question is, will Jewelry crafting be handled like any DLC, or will it be like warden in that you might have to buy the unlock extra...?

Either way, it seems likely that this is how things will be in the future... those who buy the expansions get a year worth of "head start", and those who do not... get it like a DLC later on.

Jc is the only gear progression that solo players have been included in since vMA. I hope it stays locked behind a paywall or they'll nerf it.

It’s one thing to have a class unlocked through purchase, it’d be yet another slap in the face to tell players a second time that they have to purchase access to assets that already exist in the game absolutely everywhere you look

Summerset was a bare bones chapter that had less features than Morrowind, one of which should have been base a game update to begin with

Morrowing was not simply made into a DLC. It was broken up into 3 parts.

BGs went to the base game so more players were available and Zos probably felt few would pay to play PvP.
The zone and trial became a DLC.
    Warden is sold separately

So Zos may see options based on how they handled Morrowind. I would doubt jewelry crafting will become part of the base game though.

I'd be fine with it becoming part of the base game, even though it was one of the reasons I bought Summerset when I did. But I also wouldn't be surprised if they put it in the crown store.

What would surprise me is if they included it with the DLC, so you buy both together for the price of a normal DLC and subscribers get it as part of their sub. I know Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood both included a new skill line, but they could hardly sell you the DLC without the skill line since it's required to progress. If they can sell it separately or market it as something 'new' for everyone I'm sure they will.

There's not much in Summerset they could split out. Everything else, including the Psijic skill line, is tied into the map - you have to go there to access it. So it has to be jewellery crafting.

    Base: nothing
    DLC (ESO+): zone/psijic
    Crown: jewelry crafting

I'll also bet that when 2019 chapter goes for pre-order, full Summerset will be included as a pre-order bonus before they implement the split out...
