Battle Royale when?

Okay no, but have you guys seen Nexus Blitz in League of Legends? I'd love a PVP mode where we're given many different mini-games and the winners get many different insane buffs every time. Instead of a nexus we could have a stronghold/forts on each side that people are trying to destroy and defend or a Dwemer structure encasing an Elder Scroll like the one in TES5 and we try to break it. In the last few minutes of the game a giant Dwemer golem could rise from the depths and carry the Elder Scroll to the center where they fight to the death. The team that successfully retrieves all 3 wins or most of them by the end of the timer.

We already have defend the keep, capture the resource, capture the flag and hold the point objectives in Cyrodiil and Battlegrounds.

I'm not certain that adding a PVE trials/dungeon boss to the middle of fight is really what PVP needs.

sure...the moment they add b34 bombers and kar98-k rifles we can think about battle royal...otherwise the players will have a huge gap of skill and disadvantage...speking about immortal DK tonk and gankblades ofc… who could just wait...till 1 is left and murder you.

Or maybe they should fix and expand the PvP we already have to a level where it is actually fun before introducing new things that also don't work.

Its not a place anymore to discuss good idea. I like this idea and we need something different in ESO.

I guess I -could- see a "Battle Royale" PvP region someday... where everyone is an enemy, no matter what alliance they are fgrom, and everyone fights everyone, where the objective is to rack up kill numnbers before you yourself are punched into respawn... I mean, it would not be my thing, but I am sure there are some murderdeathkillers who'd love this sort of thing...

...that sounds more like something you'd find around Imperial City, fighting strong boss enemies while getting ganked in mid-fight when an different PK group takes you in the flank to grab your stones... wasn't much fun there.

And I dislike the concept of "insane buffs", at least in the meaning that you grab a "unsurmountable advantage as long as its active" buff to "pwn everyone" regardless of your skill... I much rather get rekt by someone who is actually good then by someone who just picked up the super-buff...

Now, if we were talking about "insane" buffs of the sheogorah style... like, a buff option where you never know what you might get, could double your combat power, or yould turn you into a skeever for the duration, make you invulvnerable for a while or force you to fight "naked and afraid" with all your armor disabled in visuals and effect... use at your own risk... THAT I would be for! (Just for the lulz! :p;) )

Clearly, smushing together the keeps & resources of Cyrodiil, the flags/relics of Battlegrounds, and the district bosses of Imperial City into one timed game mode is exactly the "something different" ESO's PVP needs...

Personally, I want ZOS to focus on PVP performance issues, so that the modes we already have play well. BGs needs bug fixes and better MMR to improve it before "new" game modes copied from anither game, and Cyrodiil needs performance fixes so we can actually play with all the players who want to.

I don’t want a battle royal particularly but I would love a monster hunter mode.

    Imagine this,

You enter the battleground, there are 3 teams of 10. In the center of the map sits a half built assembly general.

All throughout the map there are bomb nodes that spawn randomly over time, up to 3 can spawn at a time. These nodes are equipped with a 60 second timer. They work similar to the mark of magus and hurt everyone around you and yourself.

The teams would need to go around and grab bomb nodes and then take them to the assembly general in the center. Once there the carrier can use the synergy button to attach the bomb to the general. This causes the bomb to detonate in 5 seconds regardless of the remaining timer. This detonation can still kill anyone.

Seems easy enough until you realize the general has long range mortars that you have to constantly dodge. His close range attack would be a telegraphed saw blade cut. His damage would be high as to create havoc.

The general can only sustain 10 bombs, with the 10th killing him.

Scoring would work on 2 scores

    Bomb plant (5,000+)
    Final blow (10,000+)

So a perfect score would be 60,000
    10 bomb plants (50,000)
    Final blow (10,000)

But that is the general idea of my game mode idea.
    PvP needs more love.

How long same contents can be played again and again that's why change is needed to maintain interest.

no doubt performance is issue and bugs are priority.

I guess I look at it this way: in PVP, the thing that is different isnt the game mode, its the players. A deathmatch is never the same twice.

In PVE, the bosses are always the same.

So I don't really get the appeal of throwing a static boss into the middle of a Player vs Player fight, and all the other aspects of this idea have been done before in other game modes, so they aren't different either.

I mean, a pure free-for-all would at least be something different from the other game modes we already havem

I have no interest in a Battle Royale, but since the topic comes up about once a week, there seems to be a lot of interest in the PvP community.

And considering that PvP has had just two expansions since launch (Imperial City and Battlegrounds), while PvE gets new content every 90 days, a Battle Royale dlc, perhaps set in Boethiah's Realm, might prove very successful.

BR is a great PvP design but one important aspect is all have a very different monetization than ESO so it does not make sense for ESO to try their hand at BR.

The battle royale genre is like “The Most Dangerous Game”—in video game form. And can get pretty tense and exciting, if done right.

please no... we have more than enough with current PvP.

Battle Royale would be basically NBs land with cloak. And don't think in not allowing invisbility, because NBs in that case will feel they are gutted for no reason.

    hmmm, nope

One of the aspects of BR is the fact that every character is thrown with more or less the same skills, depending on gear to achieve victory.

ESO is the opposite, Classes and Races are all different. You can have 50 different combinations of a character just to start. Then it comes to decisions. Some classes are much better designed for BR. Other are not.

And we have no even considered skill and skill lines. In a BR environment, resto staff and healing others abilities have no place. So if you choose to go magicka, you are giving up one entire weapon.

At the end, if you want a BR game, look for one of them. ESO is not what you are looking for in that case, neither it is a good ide convert it into that.

(this is also applied to MOBA games like DotA2 or LoL)
