Impenetrable trait - PvP only?

This question came up in another thread with no response and I really need an answer so I can properly set the traits on my armor.

It was said that PvE mobs cannot critically hit you, which would make using the impenetrable trait useless for PvE. If this is true the trait is then PvP only and it should state that in the tooltips.
I thought heavy hits from PvE mobs were critical hits that the Impenetrable trait mitigated. Am I wrong?

Someone did a test in beta and right after release. He said there were crits and they mostly happened when mobs were doing heavies, especially bosses.

Supposedly devs have said all mobs have a chance to crit, and bosses are more likely to do so.

The guy who did the tests said that 200 pts of invulnerable would pretty much cover you in PVE (which was only VR10 at that point) and probably not worth taking if you weren't a tank... tanking boss mobs. I have kept~200 points since on my Heavy armor templar.

Nobody seems to know where it is now, and I don't use addons. I have seen death recaps on my alts where a skill will show up multiple times with say 550 damage and 1 time with 1k... I'm assuming those are crits .

It is very popular in PVP recently .

@ traigusb14_ESO2 Thank you for your reply. Where in the stats does it reflect how many points you have in it? Or is it just based on the amount of pieces of armor you used the trait on?

trait itself intented to use it on PVP first place.
History, like a human being, is thirsty when it wakes from its slumber…History wants to drink up an enormous amount of blood. And even if history has tired of drinking blood, that’s only in regards to the amount. But what about quality? The larger the sacrifice is, the more delighted the cruel gods will be.

I heard that if you farm mobs for gold, wearing impen makes you more gold than the old gold making trait did. Something about it saving on armor repair. Haven't seen the math to back it up.
