Can't craft anything due to 'No Apparel/Weapons etc Types Found' Message

I have multiples of those items in my inventory, and it worked while I did the clothiers and blacksmiths certifications first quest (I'm new!) but now I can't make anything else, including a bow or do any of the writs. Help please :)
