    I'm in this same OCD class, but at the same time it took me 60 runs to get my first vMA flame staff and close to the same to get my AY daggers so I'll for sure transmute them and deal with it. At this point, there are sooooo many ppl looking for AY daggers I could not let myself keep an infused drop with so many others grinding for the same set. If EVERYONE in the group already has their set like my normal hard-core guild trials group then I'll keep it but usually there is at least one guy/gal with a new Stam char that's needs it... but that's just me, know not everyone is the same way haha

    I get what you’re saying. I transmuted my first piece the other day and was introduced to the icon. I cringed a little then realized it’s good to know. I think I found solace in the fact my devines Ilambris light shoulder I just got doesn’t have the symbol. I’m okay with it on my shoes and helm.

    Yeah I was having a very bad day. Opened that chest and got the shoulders. Need a BSW ring to actually use it. Went and soloed normal CoA. Last boss dropped the exact ring and trait I needed.

    This is an important information because, as far as I understand, not all actions are possible with transmuted gear. For example you can't research it, if I'm correct.

    Of course you can't research it, you already know that trait for that item. Otherwise you could not have transmuted it.

    What other actions do you want to do with it?

    As far as having an item but didn't earn it. Hell yes I earned that trait. It took ages to learn all the traits on all the items. Was it as difficult as running the content over and over? No, but it may have taken longer.

    Even though it's probably meant to annoy, I see it as a badge of honor awarded to those who refused to grind.

    If you could research it, you could put it in your bank and research it on another character. It's account bound after transmutation, not character bound. But I'm pretty sure Leocaran is correct and transmuted items can't be researched.

    Not something that I want developers to waste time on.

    Like others said, just look at it as a place where you circumvented RNG.
    Playing since beta...

    But you still know the trait. Make your alts a level one item in that trait. Far easier than wasting 50 crystals for an alt to research. If you transmuted it, it must have had some value.

    Even with nirnhoned, you can transmute the junk to nirn, decon for you nirncrux, and then create a level 1 item for research.

    I guess I just can't see the value in transmuting something for research. But it has been one of those days.
