I thought it would be fun to get a thread like this started, Here's one to start us off.

I was doing vHRC HM last night, had no idea about what the mechanics were and was only told "whatever you do, don't press X". So of course, I had to figure out what that meant. We all stacked on a statue, and I almost immediately got turned into stone and had the synergy.....and well....at least that was the only time we wiped.
Since everyone seems to be doing this,
DPS Builds:

During the first Mid-Year Mayhem event, I got in early enough to Shor that the early-bird players hadnt formed up yet and wound up in charge of a PUG raid by virtue of being the only person with an idea of where to go. It was my first time leading a raid in Cyrodiil.

We had a blast. Made it around the Emp ring and decided to head for an AD scroll.

So, first, I forgot that one of the AD keeps has a giant cliff on the backside of it.

Guess who led her raid right over that cliff?

Yep. Oops! Like lemmings from that Disney feature.

Then, AD took back one of their tri-keeps and we all wiped on the Scroll Barrier at the Temple.

A great time was had by all, and it made my day to hear some of the PVEers say things like "Wow, PVP is fun when you have an army!"

But believe me, I very much felt my inexperience as a raid lead.

When I was still playing the game (pls remember I was like 4 years younger back then), I'd been grinding mobs in a group with some other guy.

All of a sudden there was this massive spider on my desk. I did the only thing I could do in this situation - I ran away and hid inside my closet until the danger had passed.

When I got back I explained the incident to my group mate. He found it rather amusing until something occurred to him: I am scared of spiders ergo I must be a girl.

When he asked me if I was in fact a girl, I just said yes (even though I wasn't). I was just so embarrassed about being afraid of a spider ( it was a huuuge one though).

Anyways once we'd finished grinding I thought I could forget about the entire thing...but a couple hours later he whispered me again.

"Heyyyy :smirk::smirk: , you wanna come on Skype?"

Suffice to say I didn't play eso for a couple weeks after that.

Edit: I feel sorry for girl gamers.

We were doing vAA for a score run, had insane group DPS and were doing Varlariel second split burn. There were no group deaths up to that point. Upon execute phase and about 3 million health left for the boss, I accidentaly pressed right and, due to major expedition, went far from the group stack, straight into the middle of 3 of the boss' aoe. That killed me, and the boss wiped the group due to insuficient dps when it had around 300k HP left.

There was one particular motif chapter that folks were charging outrageous amounts for in the guild traders. If I'd known it would be that expensive, I would have just gotten it out of the crown store rather than pay overcharging sleazebags a penny, but I knew every single chapter except that one last one remaining. Henceforth, I will not buy chapters for any motif that has certain characteristics unless I know I can get it at reasonable price.

I was in Cirodill and Ive had just resurrected when I mount in my level 5 horse to start running direction to the fight. I would be almost there if it wasn't because I decided to jump from a Cliff with no view of what is in the other side.

Back when I first started playing my sorcerer, I thought because I had made it a dunmer, I had to stack fire moves and fire damage to get the most out of him- so I was running around with a fire staff and a restro staff and had the fire rune from mages guild, and avoided any and all class skills.

Had fun, but had to learn once I hit end game of course.

Trust me, there are a lot of boys/men who are afraid of spiders too.

When I was a boy I was borderline arachnophobia. And even today - while I'm not nearly as frightened of them as I used to be - I still would probably have a fit if one crawled on me.

Failed to realize over the course of a couple of weeks that I was in offline mode. I lost a couple of friends because of that and surely upset several players over zone chat looking for certain items that I said I had.

I have a crafting character that is also a vampire that I sparingly use and so it took several months to obtain the Blood Ritual skill. When I obtained it I obliged to give another person vampirism but in doing so I idiotically forgot the location of the shrine. How embarrassing. 15 minutes later I finally found the one in The Rift and that player still hadn't gotten it from another player so at least I was able to finish that task.

Pretty much also sharing that feeling. When I first started I came from Skyrim, so I wanted to play like skyrim. I had a lightning staff and restoration staff, a full set of crafted (no set) gear (because I didn't know sets were a thing) and I heard people saying crafted gear was really good. And I played exclusively in first person for the first year. It was only after I started actually learning about the game that I realized I needed to go into third to see the ground effects in dungeons...

Yeah...ESO really doesn't explain much lol

Yeah, the bite thing is totaly relatable.

I know, I have a horrible sense of direction and memory so stuff like agreeing to give a free bite has resulted in me biting wrong person. Switching toons and remembering who wants anything is tough. Luckily, I have been fortunate to be treated great by players. Doesn’t stop me from feeling guilty when I mess stuff like that up.

As for my admission, I play while tired most the time so that fits into lots of things I probably do in game. With this current event I find mysef heading to wrong quest area occasionally. Funny when I think my map isn’t showing stuff and then realize I’m wrong zoned. Well, frustrating to some extent but I laugh it off.

Lul. I had some dude tagging me off for using springs on a stacked group instead of Breath Of life ‘because breath of life is stronger’ and even worse? He was the other healer. Even worse? Was Hel Ra HM.

Even worse? We cleared with him dead by one of the gargoyles because after that argument in TS when everyone disagreed and he kept on (I mean repeatedly, mid raid!) pointing out the differences- everyone just left him dead and I solo healed the rest of the instance.

    So that sucked.

I’ve posted mine before, but: Back in the day when VDSA was new, healer had to heal springs on the pull in (on Hiath) as we were too weak to burn as yet, we only had a few lives left (no unlimited tries bs) on last pull in before execute....I sneezed, hit wrong key and roll dodged backward. Rekt the group and their souls all at once. We had enough lives for a few more goes, but after that near perfect run to the point, morale was destroyed. The tank said I destroyed his soul and made me a special rank, highest next to GM (who the tank was): Izzy Fing Sneezed

    2. I used to run a tank without sturdy gear or block cost reduction enchants up until Horns of the Reach DLC.

i went outside the temple to re-group for another try and noticed some enemy alliance player battling a bunch of npcs...i waited for their health to dip and jesus beamed them in the back...

I met this guy in a pug craglorn normal Maw of Lorkhaj run, and he was a pretty good player. Ended up inviting me and a few others to a trials guild of his. We got to talking more and he asked me if I had done vMOL before, to which I replied that I hadn't because I couldn't find a good group to do it with. Shortly after this conversation he asks me to join a vMOL group.

I get excited, because wowie I'm about to roll with the big boys and get me a coolio skin. How awesome. I'd done it on normal plenty of times. Couldn't be that hard. I hadn't set foot in vet before but I thought it'd all be okay.

Then the twins happened. Oh...***. I wiped the group. I thought I knew the mechanics!! I had the color. I thought that everyone always had to swap, for some reason. I wiped the group again. ANXIETY. PEOPLE ARE ANGRY. OH NO. Friendo whispers me and clarifies the mechanics. I listen and read raid notifier, and pay closer attention. Only when you have the little circle under your feet do you swap. AH. I got it the third time. Third time's the charm.

Everything else was cake after the twins. Luckily I didn't have to run backroom. I got carried through my first vMOL. I felt sososo bad for everyone else in the group. But everyone was so nice! I remember someone giving me my first legendary moondancer ring during that run as well, since everyone in the group already had their gear.

My friend that originally invited me actually ended up inviting me to be in his raid group and we practiced a lot more. I ended up being the backroom runner for those vMOL runs, which was cool! Of course I flopped a few times, but practice makes perfect. He wanted to get me the Dro'Mathra Destroyer title, but I ended up leaving his raid group before we could get it.

❤️ For you hunny! Well done!

    This brings me to this:
I was raiding with Deviance - like legit forever ago (I still have a V10 gold mending ring, because reasons!)

There was a part in Hel Ra, last boss - JUMP! Where he jumps and a big round aoe happens. So as it was a million years ago there were a lot more mechanics because it just took longer...so I am dying every jump and finally in TS I say ‘what am I doing wroang! You say jump and I beat the *** out of my space bar and still die!!!’

The LOLS I tell you what. Surely you know why they laughed ;-)

Cool side is, that I was in the guild who won 2nd in world Hel ra competition about 6 weeks later, for a gamescon I forget the name of, Weirdly I also forgot the guild name, but I still have the pig we all won! ❤️

As a fresh level 10 or so, days after launch, I decided I was ready to tank my first group dungeon. I put on the best heavy armour and biggest 2-hander I had and off I went to find a group for Fungal.

The first few trash pulls were... messy, but nobody died so I just put it down to group content difficulty. Then we wiped at the boss and finally someone asked me if I was taunting.

I had no idea what a taunt was. Other MMOs I'd played had mechanics where you tanked by doing damage and generating rage, so that's what I was doing.

One of the group members explained that ESO was different, I needed a taunt, and the only one available at low level required a sword & board setup. I didn't even have a 1-h sword or a shield on me, but they gave me one, pointed me towards Puncture and voilà! Instant tank :) We did the rest of the dungeon without a hitch.

One time in a vHRC run we were waiting by the chests/horn before the big army pull.

Raid leader was afk for something or other and someone asked what the horn does.

Next thing you know, there's a loud horn noise and voice chat erupts in laughter, groaning, cursing, etc. Mass of mobs headed our way, everyone freaking out, everyone dies.

Raid leader comes back from afk. Asks what the hell happened. "Someone blew the horn". "Who did this?". Nobody answered.

    It was me lol.

Now you know what the horn does.
