Hows the ping these days?
I played a lot in the past but after some specific updates post wardenville the ping camped 300+ and I just couldnt play any more.
So here I am wanting to play but im not so keen on having to download 80 odd gigs just to find out its the same or worse.
Whats your average ping from aussie/nz?

Digiman✭✭✭✭✭Really that.... ZoS has this *** system they hired to prevent DDoS attacks but rather then make it efficiently they slapped together some cheap as location far from us instead.
Used to be able to play 200-250, now I am lucky to get 290.1 -

✭Its sad that you guus have to go through so much effort to get eso to run mediocre. I just gave up and wsnt back to a game where they care about their ocx players.
I can log on to guild wars 2, and have a ping of around 180 -230. Even throigh the middle of the massive events, which seem to have triple the eso population on the screen.
Servers in similar location and im in the land down under.... For a company that continues to show zero understanding to plyers out side of their country's boarders, why should i give them any more time and money for a incomplete service? Just wish i could fet a refund on the time spent in eso.1 -

kypranb14_ESO✭✭✭✭✭So.. My Ping averages at 100. Sometimes goes down to 84, sometimes spikes up for a few seconds. I almost always see 100 ping though. I am located in US East, I have a Cat6 Ethernet Cable connecting me to my router.

Kiwi✭✭✭✭yeah i installed it and the ping sits on 250 with the odd spike to 300
i can handle that but any higher and its not fun
im assuming its an averaged display and not actual because it just sits on 250 without moving unless it spikes

That's a nice ping. I'm going to assume you're not playing from the oceanic region though....
Mines at 360-400, but not uncommon to be around 450. The +999 spikes seem to be more frequent as well.
What sucks is at the start of the year I was pretty steady at 280-320.1 -

233-250 on a good day, 270 on a bad two or so weeks prior to Nerfmire. After that is skyrocketed up to 350-400+ ping with 999+ spikes happening frequently. Know it's not my internet due to having absolutely zero issues with other online games like FFXIV. NZ player here, with Spark fiber too.
Just urgh, I want to play the game but even simple tasks like doing crafting writs is impossible somedays. But ZOS doesn't care and have refused to acknowledge us after all this time, they got our money and they're happy

✭Sad thing is, its just an 'eso' problem. Zero issues else where. So nice and easy to point the finger at zos and their poor design.
As an ocx player, yeah you should get 120-200 because of real world physic and hardware limitation.... But 300+ is a joke and to make us 'jump through hoops' to get there game to work? They dont deserve your money0 -

I’d also like to know. Their website seems poorly designed. Any sort of download links seem to just go into a faq page or dead end.0 -

uhm im pretty sure its bundled into the game, like almost every other mmo, and is used to integrate the store

To have to deal with ping like that or worse, I don't see how you even come back to play.1 -

That’s gotta be something going on with your ISP, setup or something. When I’m back in the states I’m visiting family in Vermont and even there in a really small town it’s about 130 or 160 if it’s prime time PvP. Still pretty *** for being in the US. But 200 is real high. I’m not sure how the ping is only 100ms higher halfway around the world. It almost feels like the majority of the latency issue rest somewhere near to ZOS servers... imagine that.0 -

Skills not firing, bar swaps not working, stuck in hvy attack animation n then four skills go off at once.... its pretty bad atm.
