Why So Stingy New Life Writs

I’m doing these quests on a few different toons, feels like all I’ve done since Thursday and got 3 flipping writs. Loosen up the reigns a little ZOS! Looks like I’m gonna have to buy them all at this point. Don’t need anymore skin changer Motifs. Gimme the new life writs.

I can't complain as I am at 9/12 without buying anything and short of one motif to complete all the achievements but I feel for the unlucky. Honestly there are 9 dailies, you should have a guaranteed drop of one writ and one motif every day.

I've been doing festival dailies on 1-2 characters a day and I have, like... 8 writs, I think? And we still have two more weeks for farming. For what it's worth, writ drop rate is okayish on my 15-20 level characters but on my high CP character I've got none

Tell me about it, done all dailies on my main everyday, got none. I have 5 other CP characters but none of them have riding, gear, or wayshrines... Unless my luck picks up over the next week or so, looks like I'll be buying them

I completed 100 plus quests and still only have 5 writs. I struck out again this morning on the nine I did for my main. How many swords do I have to swallow or silly dances do I have to do to get the skin??? Lol

Dailies don't really require special (or any) gear and are quite tolerable with low/none riding speed. As for wayshrines - well, every character needs to discover them only once

I have done 6 in the last 2 days. Guess what? None of them awarded me the event ticket. It is like once I have gotten 2 tix in a day the others become useless.

I am doing the NLF dailies on at least 5 characters a day and I only have 5 writs and none since Friday. I did many more than 5 characters on Saturday and Sunday and still saw no writs. But I hope to get there eventually.

You only get 1 ticket a day direct from Breda not writs, so I'm not sure what you're on about.

I’ve done all 9 quests a total of 7 times and I’ve gotten 20 writs, I don’t think the drop rates are that bad.

I really don't see why they cant implement a similar system to that used for the Indrik mount?
Complete 60 or 90 NL quests and bingo... get the skin! No rng, no messing around!

Omg if I have to do one more braindead same ole same old NLF quest I'm gunna blow my brains out. PS4 NA is saturated with this new skin, so I'm sitting here thinking is it even worth it? Short answer is YES. I need to get it because its obtainable so here goes another night of grinding...

I believe the New Life writs share the same concept of Master Writ chances. The more completed motifs (or maybe housing designs?) you know, the more common they are to drop. My master crafter who has all motifs and reads all the furniture designs got like 3 in a row, and gets around 5 each day. So, keep that in mind. Lowbies just to grind dailies aren’t necessarily gonna help you.

Hmm. I stand corrected then. It appears that it’s just good ‘ol RNG at its finest.

I'm at 5 writs, but I've only done 1 quest on Thu/Fri, then on Saturday and Sunday I did 2 characters each day and yesterday I did 1, which is going to be my weekday routine until I'm off for Christmas.

I'm hoping to have enough writs at the end of the event to get the achievement on at least 2 characters.

I don't think that's the case. Anecdotal evidence - but my healer who has zero crafting skills but the occasional point she picked up reading a skillbook has gotten way more writs than my master crafter with 25+ motifs known. It's just plain old RNG.

6 what? 6 new life festival events? 6 toons? There are 9 festival events per character per day. You only get 1 event ticket per day per account. Doing 3 toons a day (27 events) took me 4 days to get 12 writs. It is a grind but it is not impossible.

I must disagree with you - I am a Master Crafter with everything at 50, and most motifis and patterns known, my wife's new Warden has no crafting skills no motifis, nothing.. She has gotten 8 Writs to my 2 Writs..

So there must be something else in play here.. Or the RNG just loves her more then me.. because she has also gotten 4 undaunted keys to my none..

I mean this is suppose to be a FUN holiday event but wanting us to just grind for an hour or 2 a day and sometimes still come up empty isn't fun. And yes we don't have to do it but if you want the skin you must do it. As it is we have enough grinding to do without having to spend each evening tossing 10 mud balls, riding here riding there. How about just rewarding everyone for playing your game for another year. And for the love of god please come up with something new besides the mud ball pouch or sword swallowing emote just how many more years are we going to rehash the same old things... I appreciate you do holiday events but I have 20+ gold rewards I can't even give away and skin changer motifs I'm just deleting at this point.

I don’t think that is the case. I have a grandmaster crafter that knows all the motifs that have been released so far and he got 1 New Life Writ so far and I did all 9 quests every day so far. And one of my new characters who isn’t a crafter at all got 2 New Life Writs so far.

It does not seem Zos is being stingy since the even lasts about 3 weeks. I understand people wanting things close to instant but sometimes things take a little time.

In the past special items dropped too much, people complained that prices dropped to rock bottom.

Now they slow it up on the new thing, people complain it's too much of a grind.

Can't win for losing or people just want to complain. Take your pick.
