So I have ice dps and ice tanks. Ice is all I play and frozen gate will never have a use on my bar. It’s slow in cast time, requires placement. Half the time a enemy can be standing on it and it wont activate, it can be reflected (wth.. why is this reflectable), expensive to get out and has to basically be walked into, it doesn’t even effect bosses so the maim is pointless and doesn’t do anything to really strengthen the class and never will.

Warden tanks and dps are really hurting and this is a total waste of a ability.

There’s a thousand more useful things you add in it place using assets already in game. Give us the icewall that can root us but give us a powerful damage shield adding on to our theme, offered a damage reduction, or give us a powerful slow moving linear winter tornado that does bonus damage to like chilled or immobilized targets that enters its path. There’s so many more interesting thing that we actually need. Replace this ability completely.

    Let's encourage ZoS to improve under-performing but useful-in-principle class skills rather than eliminate them. Make the cast time of Frozen Gate on par with Chains and Silver Leash, sure. Make all of them reflectable or none of them. Even out the resource cost. But eliminating the skill? Nah.

    Plus, none of the things you've mentioned as a replacement is needed by warden tanks:
    • Shields? We've got Shimmering Shield. And a true ice tank surely wears Iceheart.
    • Damage reduction? We've got Permafrost, and maim via chilling.
    • A slow-moving DPS skill? Waste of a slot on a tank's bar.

    Frozen gate is hot garbage you should be using leash as compared to a trash version of it. The whole mechanic of it is majorly flawed as stated for reasons I listed. Ice builds lack more then a mob movement ability and we have a answer mob pull already. No amount of buffs is going to make that garbage ability good. Frozen gate could never be are par speed wise with chains anyways you have to activate and place instead of just pull the target you want. Not to mention how unreliable the method is and how awkward placing it can be.

    Shimmering shield is only for projectiles not bit hits, aoes and is only good for three hits meaning mobs can rid it as it goes up. Doesn’t help

    Permafrost is a ultimate I’m suggesting ideas outside of 200 cost ult. Also there isn’t a problem with having abilities that specifically combo with effects. Damage wise ice subpar to the other too this would offer a way to help close that gap. There are no hardhitting ice abilities.and this would fit it as a strong aoe.

    Ice isn’t just tanks. It also has dps. Morphs are also a thing. It could easily be converted to taking. Frozen gate is holding ice dps and tanks back. It doesn’t work. We need something better.




    Nobody even uses it. I only equip it to troll people off a bridge in duels and have the people don’t even know what it is.

    Frozen Gate could be target based, as in, it requires a target to cast and instantly pulls them to you without the whole delay thing.

    No, we don't need to remove this skill. people enjoy using it and you have to account for that. we can however ask that frozen retreat be moved to base so frost tanks gain a buff and dont lose anything, while us magdps gain something.

    Two morphs... one should be dps and other the should be tanking... goes for all winters embrace abilities really

    Frozen gate is better then leash if you know where mobs spawn. You can lay the trap down before they do. Leave the skill.
