You could still port to any dungeon, kill last boss and gain tickets. Also, I queued with grp finder just fine. Except the first day.
This.
Your tickets were for killing any dungeon end boss. No group finder needed for that. You could just port directly inside, either alone or with a group you put together beforehand. It was quite clearly detailed in the event information.
Group Finder was... "iffy" a lot of the time, and problematic at peak hours for sure, but I still managed to do multiple random dungeons each day. (Event Tickets were not a problem to get; easy to group with someone and just port into any normal group dungeon.) ZoS have indicated that they will add the Undaunted event special rewards to the first New Life daily of each day (on top of the New Life Festival special rewards); this is a very generous solution and should make everyone happy (except those who were farming the DLC dungeon motif pages to sell).
I got all my tickets by soloing FG1, but tbh didn't get one single mystery box, and thats ok.
I tried the GDF but bugged on me so gave up. Oh well, no boxes for me....
But wait!!!! Yes I can!! Thank you Rich Lambert for giving us the boxes in next event!!
Huzzah!!
