Can only echo the above, it is not the game that messed your computer up OP, it is your computer itself, sounds like it needs some maintenence and tlc.

I do not often stick up for ZoS, but in this case, it is not their fault hehe.

...and I believe ESO may have something to do with it.

Ok, let me explain: Since Wednesday, I've had issues with my laptop (which is specifically built for gaming) going super slow, as if my computer was infected by a virus. Suffice to say, I'm not happy about my slow computer, which has already caused me to lose a couple fights in-game.

Then things came to a head on Sunday: Shortly after progressing a quest which involved me and an NPC engaging in a bet involving alcoholic drinks (which I DO NOT recommend attempting), my character and the NPC in question apparently had quite the hangover. Unfortunately, it appears my UPC power backup chose to have a hangover as well, and failed for a moment, which caused my laptop to perform several partial uninstallations of various games before completely shutting down the computer. As ESO was the only thing open at the time and there were no other programs running in the background besides my Internet security, I firmly believe ESO was the direct cause of my UPC having what I'm calling a "momentary seizure."

So therefore, I am imploring the devs at ZOS to look into their servers and do some troubleshooting, because I believe there is a virus that infected their servers, leading to my computer getting infected, which ultimately led to my power backup having a momentary seizure.

Sorry if this isn't grounded in fact or if this post sounds stupid, but as I have final exams coming up and stress levels at my college campus is through the roof, my tiredness is leading to increased irritability/irrationality. And my computer's performance over the past week is not helping my irritability in the slightest.

    Rant done. Lord Arena25 out.

    Signed,

    Lord Arena25

Check your AV mine was fighting with eso when I had an issue like this. Also recommend a malware scan. Even going to Google or a eso build site can bet you something. And if it's Norton, well there's your problem lol

If it helps in any way I Uh... “accidentally” threw my phone across the room the right way that the screen glitched out and I damaged something with the WiFi in it. Had to get a new one and ironically when my old phone was damaged, my lock screen background had Molag Bal on it.

Look, you are obviously not very familiar with computers.

So, I won't be sarcastic or anything.

The odds that ESO gave you a virus is abysmally smaller than the odds you had a piece of hardware that failed.
If that's the case, and your computer is still under warranty, you should have it fixed.

However, the best odds are :

-just a crash - operating systems can sometime get unstable and crash

-a malware caught on any site (no need for the site to be fishy .. any site not secure enough can be infected) ..in that case, run an antivirus, run malwarebytes, update your operating system, your browser, your adobe and your java version.

Since you mention partial desinstallation, I'd say .. malware (or hard drive failure, but that would be unlucky)

Like others have said you can't get a virus from ESO. If that was possibly thousands or millions of people would be affecting.

More likely what is happening is ESO is causing a memory leak on your system. I had an Asus gaming laptop (FX series) for a couple years. There were times it would slow down and ESO would be using up to 12 GBs of m 16 GBs of RAM. You check the Task Manager and there would be like 30 processes of ESO running (basically every time you close it out). Closing them all fixes the issue.

The other time it happened it was slowing down and I was only getting like 10 fps where I would normally sit around 50 fps. After playing for like 2 hours I got a pop up telling me my battery had 5 minutes left. Turned out my plug was unplugged enough to not charge the battery. So if your battery isn't taking a charge it could be faulty battery or cable. When it's charging you're fine when it's not it reduces power to things like the GFX card to save battery time.
